I haven't been able to sleep since Garrett became our head coach!!!!
In all seriousness, good luck. I go through spells when I have a lot on my mind, luckily no sleep apnea issues. Knock on wood!

Every now and again I will have trouble sleeping, waking up 2 hours before I am supposed to get up, etc. Here are a few things that help.

Not eating after a certain hour.
Not napping in the daytime under any circumstances.
And Melatonin.

Good luck to you!

The doctor is right. You need a cpap. You will love yourself for getting one. You'll wake up with a bed tent every morning and feel great. The air will probably help with your drooling too. If you toss too much duct tape it to your head.

After a week you won't want to sleep without it as they are addictive.

I had a cpap smear and the results revealed I can't wear one. I wanted one to wear when I play Alien 3 and am entering the ship to wake up up Ripley.

They attempted to schedule one last year but it got so screwed up over three different places trying to schedule it for me and I went through that problem a few different times and just got so irked over it I cancelled it all together.

It was like someone was playing a practical joke at one time just to see how mad they could make me and it worked. lol I remember I made the mistake of initially using my Home number on the form instead of my cell. The home number goes to my wife's cell. She did not answer it when they called three different times. If they can't reach you after three times they consider it closed. I would call and say why have you not scheduled an apt. They said they called three times. I said, ok change the number to my cell phone. So we go another round. After a month I call again...why did you not schedule my apt. They said we did call three times and nobody answered. I asked what number they used...they used the home number again even though they told me they changed my number. So I have them change the number to my cell again and waited until they confirmed my number in the system. Wait some time with no calls. Call again...they say they called three times and nobody answered. I asked them to tell me what number they had in the system for me...the repeated MY number this team...I say well I never got the call, can you double check to see what number they called to make sure it is the number you have in their system...they had my cell phone number in the system but again called the other number.

I gave up...it was like a who's on abbot and costello routine. I was so angry...it's funny thinking of it now but was not back then.

:banghead: Sounds a pain in the azz. Hope you find your answers......

Always talking over my head coach. I did find this though: . Somebody should nominate him in the best singer thread. Ok voice I guess.

I used to use those things that mom used to tweak her eyelashes to give my hampster a pappsmear. They work great.

Speaking of drooling - you found any good porn sites lately?

Drooling CAN be a symptom of a deviated septum. I've had sleep issues off and on for 20 years until I had sinus surgery. I've had three sleep studies and one of them I couldn't fall asleep, even after a dose of ambien. I just blinked my eyes for 2 hours and they finally got upset and told me to go home. They recommended several surgeries. I had my uvula (little punching bag in the back of the throat) and adnoids removed along with two surgeries for sinus reconstruction. Those surgeries solved my snoring and most of my sleep issues.

Hopefully you can get that surgery if needed. You really don't want to try and force your body to "dry out" every night just to get by. It would wreak havoc long-term forcing your system to be in a constant adjustment for the proper balance. I've been there and know all too well what it is like when you lie down at night utterly exhausted, only to wake up what seems a few hours later having to battle another day again. You also really need to eventually stop playing that game in the middle of the night. :) You've set an internal clock to alert you to that.

And the light from the screen might be waking up his system and instead of getting beneficial REM sleep, he's more in the napping stage.

Whether it be getting to sleep or stay asleep?

At one time It would take me at least 1.5 to 2 hours to get to sleep each night. Mind would just be racing and could not get comfortable so I would toss and turn knowing it would take me a while before getting to sleep.

Now I take zyrtec for allergies and since taking that on a regular basis at night I tend to fall asleep pretty fast. I know it makes me a little sleepy although not like taking a sleeping pill.

However here comes the rub.

At one time I had a serious case of sleep apnea where for a week or so I really was worried as I kept feeling like I could not breath after I fell asleep. It was really scary for about a week before my body adjusted and I just started breathing with my mouth open through most of the night.

Now that presented another problem. Now I wake up multiple times a night drooling. This does not even include waking up multiple times to use the bathroom which come with age.

The drooling issue is a real pain. Although for a short period of time I found some other medication that caused Dry Mouth so it helped. Problem is after that was gone my Doctor did not want to give me other medications that could cause dry mouth.

She is only interested in wanting me to get a Cpap machine. I have told her multiple times I cannot wear one as I move around too much at night, so much so that it moves the mattress off the box springs most nights. Also I cannot lay flat on my back as for some reason it gives me a bad headache.

This has been going on for over a year.

It's funny, when I do go to sleep and then wake up do to the drool on the pillow or having to use the bathroom...sometimes I will load up the tablet and pay a few minutes of Candy Crush Soda game. Each time after Midnight (or in the game after a 24 hour period) it will give you a free prize to help with the game. The more days you go in a row within that time parameter the better free gifts you get and it keeps track of the number of consecutive days. There have been a few that I have missed over the past year and a half but as of right now I am over 200 consecutive days of waking up and playing the game to get the gift and every time is after midnight and before 5:30 am (5:30 is my normal wake up time).

Sometimes I have trouble staying away during the day. Sometimes at work I just nod off a little but don't get in trouble. I can not seem to make it through a full movie without nodding off at home, even if it is just a few minutes here or there.

Ok...I am babbling on.

Tell me about your sleep troubles. If you have found something over the counter that has helped with drooling (even tried Dramamine that someone suggested but it did not work).

Oh...so if I am occasionally grumpy, you never know...it might because I am tired.
Maybe start the process of winding down earlier

Turn off the electronics about and hour or two before you want to go sleep, except maybe the TV on low

Train your body when you get into bed sleep is coming within an hour

I like to keep the room super super dark(I even tape over some electronic lights) with a fan blowing

I get up once or twice to pee and a couple times to turn over but I get 7-8 decent hours

A one hour mid-afternoon nap is glorious when you can get it

I work swing shift, so my sleep is always FUBAR.
Mine should be, but I think I just burned my body clock out.
I go to work anywhere from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., depending on my destination the next day, which means I go to bed anywhere from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
On Friday and Saturday nights I usually don't go to bed until 1 or 2, sometimes later, so I have a lot of 24 hour days, followed by about 6 hours sleep, just so I can get to sleep the next night by 7:30 or so.

That's tough. Just finished three years on days and now back to swing shift. I like the time off, but midnights are brutal.

I bet!

Worst I ever saw was the schedule my brother used to have:
Work 12 hours for three days
Off three days
Work 12 hours for three nights
Off three days
Then back to three days on, etc.

I hear there's something called "Rotating Shift Disease", caused by that type of schedule.
