He finally gets some cake. Unfortunately it won’t be to celebrate making the team. Outside shot at PS because if he can play both offense and defense he can fill two roles to prep the team for game day…

Honestly, I can't call it. Guy is big and athletic; there's no doubt about that. I just never saw him as an offensive lineman.

He's actually more intriguing to me as a defensive tackle since I've seen him play offensive tackle. I've never seen him play on the defense, so I guess we'll see. I personally don't know much about Alarcon's football background, so any input on that would be appreciated.
I think he has a decent shot at the practice squad. He can fill in on either side of the line as needed, making him a 2 for 1 PS guy. Make the 53? Not seeing it.

If you look at his bio, you'll know he never had a chance.

Yes.

I expect him to play in pre-season games to spell Mazi, etc.

Then be released in the last cut....

There is a better chance I do something at at tackle. And I am 100 pounds light and older than dirt.

"We give up on you at OT, but could use another camp body at DT."

He couldn't get competitive at the position he played and was given years of development time in the NFL. It would be a miracle if he could flip a switch and even have a chance at DT this year.

Everybody was wishing the best for him, but it just didn't happen.

The Cowboys just have enough talent for offensive tackle and depth at present, that will need game film and time on carpet.

Alarcon is getting a chance to determine if he can adapt to the DT position. Obviously they think he has attributes that are worthy enough to give him that tryout. If he was some sort of total loss they would have cut him already.
