Anyone feel closer to this team thru these hard times?

I felt closer to the teams of Campo. They weren't good, but they usually put forth a good effort.

I agree, at least there was hope that they will eventually rebuild. This team pretty much seemed loaded for run and now fails miserably. Heck no way you feel close to this team. The players don't feel close to this team, so how can fans feel that?

Honestly, I pissed about this team. Once Romo went down, they gave up on the season. David Garrard said the defense did not look like they wanted to play, and had a look on their faces as if they felt sorry for themselves. Like the announcers said, where is their pride? They need to man up. This team has no heart and cannot handle expectations. These guys are pros and are priviledged to get the opportunity to play in the NFL. I am embarrassed by their play.

Other teams dig down and continue to give effort, but our boys, just rolled over and played dead. Now the season is over by Halloween and we look forward to the draft, pathetic.

Missed opportunities, especially in a year when the NFC is wide open, our team caved in. I don't want stats, they are not a good team. Hos - your nightmare might come true - Steelers versus Eagles in Cowboys Stadium for the Super Bowl. Makes me sick...

i feel more distant from the team than ever and i think it's because we have so many unlikeable players on this team. guys like igor olshansky, martellus bennett, etc. i just watch this team and it's hard for me to really feel anything. i'm numb to it all.

This team is full of a bunch of whiners and losers who quit the second Romo went down. Like another poster mentioned, David Garrod said that the defense has a self defeated look to him, they didnt want to be out there and they didnt want to compete. He said that it looked like it was a bunch of guys just feeling sorry for themselves.

Have some freaking pride! Have some freaking passion about the game! Yea, things didnt go well this season but thats life, **** happens!!! Now you can either mop around feeling sorry for yourself and just give up or you can get off your arse and do something about it.

Clearly our players decided giving up and feeling sorry for themselves was the way to go. What a bunch of gutless, heartless losers on this team. Makes me sick to my stomach they wear the star.

No, No and No. Not this year, the 1-15 year yes.

But I have never been more angered, hurt, disappointed, frustrated or confused by any team the cowboys have ever had and I have been watching for 30 years.

Thing is this is a different deal then 89. In 89 we had nobody basically. Now we have a QB,a great WR corps,Ware,Rat,Jenkins. We have talent as a base to a degree already.

bravo juck - good post. And yeah, I feel like I know them personally during the tough times, like I can feel their pain and thirst for leadership.

Thanx- It would not surprise me if this team (with the right coaches) will be excellent.

Absolutely. It's easy to be a fan when things are going well. The REAL fans stick with their team through hard times.

Makes it easy to weed out the bandwagoners... "Waaah, I'm done with this team until __ happens!"

Nope. If i want to build character through hard times i will do it with my family and friends not with some stupid football team. These are unmotivated millionaire athletes that don’t care. I also don’t spend my usual time reading/listening/researching like i would if i was enjoying the season.

I don't really look forward to games with the same amount of enthusiasm.

I don't really talk about football that much anymore.

I'm more interested in fantasy games than anything else at this point.

Yeah me either. When a team keeps losing its pretty bad taste for your buddies to rub it in every week. Although Sunday I was sitting next to a Oakland fan in the bar and he was talking trash about the Boys the entire game till finally the bartender had to tell him to shut up or leave because he was being overly rude. BTW the bartender is a giants fan!

I hear ya but this is different.


This is a team that is playing down to its capabilities/potential. Its just different for me.

Its a shame we are "rebuilding" with the talent we have in place.

We have talent on this team for sure but we have voids that need filling. The o-line needs totally revamped with new blood so we can run the darn ball. Jones & Barber can do little with the lack of blocking. Running backs get so much credit for their thousand yard seasons but without blocking it ain't happening. Barry Sanders not withstanding. The defense needs new people as well at various positions. Fundamental football like gap responsibilities and sure tackling are a current problem as well as disguising the blitzes.I hope the team turns it around and gets it headed in the right direction.

We're not rebuilding, we're tweaking the roster while bringing in a new HC. Might be Garrett.

But we have a good core of talent, including most importantly a very good QB, so I don't think we'd need to "rebuild" much at all. I see no reason we can't be an elite team in 2011.

No --maybe if we had cleaned house and was started over or flat out didn't have the talent. But this a bunch of talented players with no heart. And the coach is useless.

I can feel close to a average team that plays their hearts out or a young team that is flying around (even if it is not always the right thing ) and trying. This bunch has loser all over them...Make the changes now
