Anyone feel closer to this team thru these hard times?

In a strange way, yes I do.

In 2008 when we were bad I relied on them to bring me out of my doldrums because m Dad had died that year. This year it's my Mom in ill health.

Yes, I do, but I can't explain it beyond that.

This is a team that is playing down to its capabilities/potential. Its just different for me.

Its a shame we are "rebuilding" with the talent we have in place.

I do stay on this board, more when they lose than I do when they win. I am intrigued on how this team will look next year. I will check this board several times a day for any type of breaking news. I feel there will be something big in the next few days.

But I have never been more angered, hurt, disappointed, frustrated or confused by any team the cowboys have ever had and I have been watching for 30 years.

i feel more distant from the team than ever and i think it's because we have so many unlikeable players on this team. guys like igor olshansky, martellus bennett, etc. i just watch this team and it's hard for me to really feel anything. i'm numb to it all.

I'm going to use a weird analogy, but nonetheless I think it is an accurate comparison.

I think the reason you feel this way is that it has been so long since we were in a Conference Championship game or the Super Bowl.

The analogy is this:

When my wife and I were young and our children were being born (we have 4), my wife was in the baby having mode. We would be excited for the birth of each child (and rightfully so).

But what we had not yet fully enjoyed was the joy of being a part of their lives as they grew up and now have entered into adulthood.

The perpetual rebuilding of the Cowboys and another new coach, and another new regime DOES offer some excitement for me, but I'm ready for the grown up stage. I'm ready for another Super Bowl. It has been too long.

I have gotten closer to this team this year. I have also gotten closer to this forum as well because it has helped me cope immensely. My grandmother past away on 10/10/2010 and time of death was 3:15 p.m. central time at 96 years old, the time of the titan's game. I know that there is heart on this team but I agree on a change needs to be done.

I have no preferences right now about HC or who to draft but a lot of restructuring and change of philosophies needs to be done. I don't know who to blame, so I won't. This puzzle is still in pieces and hopefully a new HC can put it together. I am happy for this year because it has made me realize there are more important things than football. Also a good year because it has made me more aware of reality.

I am no longer buying into "hype" or paper champions, or even Super Bowl or bust mentality. I just want to see a sound organization again, that plays clean hard nose football year in and year out regardless about the lombardi count. I just want to see some good football and consistency from my beloved Cowboys.

I look at it like this We won 3 superbowls in 4 years and it was great I really dont see this organization turning it around till jerry steps down. I'll take the abuse from all the other NFL fans cause we have 5 but it's going to be hard to see the steelers win a lot more SB before we ever come close. I hate this team I feel bad for Romo, Witten and Ware. Scrap the rest of these guys just unmotivated guys collecting paychecks..... just crap!

totally agree. I feel close to a couple of guys who try to bring it every game...mostly Tony...but there is no effort on this team. They don't care about winning, and certainly not doing it for the fans. Wade's lost them, and to an extent, they've lost me.

Nope, don't feel closer to the team becasue they lose or win. I wish I did feel detached to the team many times, since 96, but haven't been able. Its like God Father part II movie. Each time I think I can get out, they pull me back in. It only takes me maybe a day before I am back in.....

Not team has a "talent on the whole" that is WAY ABOVE average.


You take a few good/great players, you surround them with ok players and you scheme to hide the lesser players. NFL101.
