Anyone going to Oxnard or have you ever been? thinking hard about attending training camp. Isnt this the last year at Oxnard? Any thing you share would be appreciated. Where to stay, how to ascertain schedule, how close to the beach,, etc etc.

The contract with Oxnard is good for another 3 years, I believe, but they are going to split it between Oxnard and Frisco. Once the contract is up, it'll be exclusively Frisco (home of gun-toting Cowboys).

I have been to Oxnard in seven different years but now live in the NE area for a bit. So, I am going to attend a Patriots camp to see the differences in preparation and organization.

Oxnard is well worth it, you will have a great time but don't forget to visit some beaches nearby. If ya have kids, they will love the wildlife, especially the sealions and such.

I've been to the Ox a handful of times. Depending where you're coming from. I usually stay in Thousand Oaks.

At least a couple years back, being a member of the True Blue fan club got you a little better access to seeing the activity on the field. It also got you in the gates about a half hour before everybody else, which is worth it when the seating is first-come, first served. It was cheap, ~$20 or so. Worth looking into.

Ox is on the coast, but I haven't spent any time at any of their beaches. Santa Barbara is only ~30 miles or so up the coast, though, and it's beautiful there.

If you see Jerry walking around at camp, the first person that runs up and tags him and says 'you're it!' gets a free t-shirt and a chance to pose for pictures with him and Stephen, so that's always a fun thing to try to do. You might have to sneak up, though, because his body guards are often around.

Wear a red wig if you're going to go, and make crazy eyes at other fans in the stands. That's a thing, now. If you have kids, dress them up like Thing 10 and Thing 11. That's also becoming a thing.

I stayed in an airbnb in W. Hollywood and made the drive to Oxnard using the 101, then took the PCH (scenic ocean route) back to L.A but stopped in Malibu. I would not have done anything differently. It was close to Santa Monica beach and all the tourists stuff. I don't think there's any reason to actually stay in Oxnard, not much there other than the camp. Spend the extra $20-25 dollars for the DCU membership if you don't already have it so you can get field level access for the practice.

@Trouty I'm crossing my fingers I can still make it. I want to go to that Rams preseason game too. We'll definitely link up if some things fall into place.
