You can't be serious with this.

http://olympics.fanhouse.com/2007/11/02/is-cocaine-a-performance-enhancing-drug/

Article talks about Martina Hingis, who retired over accusations that she tested postivie for cocaine during Wimbledon. A positive test would carry a 2 year suspension. From the article, the following.......

"The acute effects of cocaine probably, overall, would impair and not enhance performance. But within a two-hour window, you may actually have some enhancement - overcoming fatigue, reaction time, and so on."

Additionally.......

If Hingis did use coke for athletic enhancement reasons she certainly wouldn't be the first athlete to do so. In the late 1970's, Hollywood Henderson, a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, carried a nasal inhaler filled with a mixture of cocaine and water in his uniform during games. Lawrence Taylor has also admitted to being high during games, and its not a stretch to say that both linebackers used the drug to help foster the self-confidence and euphoria that scientists believe cocaine provides its users. They probably aren't the only NFL (or other sports) players who felt, rightly or wrongly, that those "benefits" would help them succeed on the playing field.

So to answer your question, yes.............I am serious about this.

The guy was the best ever, drugs or not. He was not only the best LB ever to play the game, he changed the way the game was played forever.

There isn't a drug on the planet that creates a Hall of Fame LB such as Lawrence Taylor. If that was the case, almost everyone would have been doing it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course.

Overrated? Did you ever see him play? He's one of the greatest players to ever step on the field. Maybe the best defensive player I ever saw, and certainly in the top 2 or 3.

LT - Overated Cokehead trash? He was good but how much of that was due to drugs? Steroids and coke? There are rules against drugs because they have side effects and everyone should be on equal terms. As for LT's opinion consider the source.
Romo vs. Eli Manning? I would take Romo every time. Now Romo vs Peyton Manning -Sure would miss Tony..... I think Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are head and shoulders above most other quarterbacks in the league even though I still do not think Brady is back to 100%.
Romo is a very good QB, I think better than Eli Manning but not better than Peyton or Brady.

Taylor was an outstanding LB, and that wasn't because he was on drugs.

That being said, I did once meet a backup LB for the Giants from back in those days, who informed me that LT would get coked up several hours before kickoff. It was pretty obvious to the players and coaches, but they didn't do anything about it. He used to arrive at Giants stadium at least 2 hours before anyone else, and get coked up in his parked car.

I did trust the source.

its amazing the choice of wording here spelling out that Henderson carried an inhaler on the field but Taylor "also admitted to being high" Its worded in a way to suggest the details regarding Taylor arent quite as bad and it infers he didnt have it on the field or on his uniform when in fact he specifically said he did that exact thing on, of all places, 60 Minutes.
