Anyone heard from Pearson?

Drew has always been one of my favorite players. I don't know why he sounded like he disliked Dez, but he wasn't entirely wrong about some of his criticisms. Plus he sounded no different than our fans here who have said far more than he did.

This, his criticism were founded, he said nothing that wasn't being said here, oh AND he directly participated in winning us a Super Bowl as one of the best receivers of the 70's.

But he must be torn down because the whelps of today show no respect for players they never watched live.

Funny how fans turn on the greats of this team from history because those greats say something that hurts the feeling of the fan.

Drew was right back then, and is right now.

So you think Drew is right in saying that Dez is the best player on the offense?

I don't think I was tearing Drew down at all.

I think he was agreeing with you...and expounding on it a bit.

Name calling....way to be mature.

People who watched the old days have to realize, as good as those players were, they are no match size wise, strength wise or skill wise to the players of today. Players are better today. There is such a thing as progress.

That is not to put the old guys down, it is accepting reality.

He was great back in the day...sure.

But he would be Dez's and Austin's water boy in today's league

What he used to be as a player really has no bearing on what he is today ... a 3rd tier wannabe sports talk radio shock jock hack. I have no doubt he has some pretty keen first hand knowledge of the game. I wish he would use it it to provide some unique observational insight, but instead he wants to put 90% of his criticisms into the two Cowboy lightening rod players (Dez, Romo) because he knows talking about those players will get him noticed, and he ignores more deserving targets critique. Must be pretty nice for Miles Austin to get paid like a #1 WR for a projected 70 catch season and still fly under the radar because guys like Drew Pearson are more concerned about creating a fake controversy as to whether Dez should have landed on his head rather than put an arm out as he's flying through the air on an arobatic circus catch for a potential game winning touchdown.

Pearson just needs to shut his mouth. While he was a great WR, he cannot match Dez re physicality, speed and power.

That's debatable.

Dude I get that DP is tough on the Boys but DP was pure money when it came to crunch time catches. He knew his routes/plays and with exception to Fred Belitnekoff, ran the best pass routes in football. He also went over the middle with the real assasins in the secondary and no help from the rule changes. No he was not the strongest nor fastest but probably the most effective possession WR in DC history.

Agree. He was Staubachs , Witten... Except it resulted in TD's on many occasions

Pearson and Hill were awesome. They were then, they would be now(if they were young). You have to remember today's league is more pass friendly. CB's did a lot more back then. and had freedom to do so. I buy that linemen today are a lot better than they were then, but don't buy it when it comes to wide outs.

/But yes, Pearson shouldn't be criticizing Dez

They both did...WR's could push off, and mug CB's just as much.

But i hear you
