I still can't believe people talk about 07 and 08 as being such a disaster. Now maybe the third year of the Campo era was a disaster... Three straight years of 5-11 probably qualifies.

But going 13-3 and then 9-7, then potentially 2-3 is SO BAD that you want the team to lose and the coaching staff to be torn up?

Two words: SACK UP.

I see what you're asking.

This to me is like the rocky relationship with the GF or Wife you've been with for years and years. You might think some things in your head about all the reasons why you should leave. But in the end, you remember all the things that make it worthwhile and you stay.

That's kinda my relationship with the Cowboys. They're a always doing things to make me question my allegiance with them, but in the end I remember why it's all worthwhile.

I pointed out to some people on the forum that one segment of fans is always very vocal after losses but nearly silent for days after wins. Last year it was even more evident.

It's the only way that segment of fans can feel superior to everyone around them.

The only time I have ever rooted against Dallas is if it were a week 16 or 17 game and we had no shot at the playoffs.

Usually reality doesn't set in with me until we are 100% eliminated from the playoffs.

And the only reason I want them to lose is to improve draft position.

Its not even that I want them to lose its just what I feel is best for the team in the long run.


But last year? Heck no. We still hadn't got Felix Jones involved at that point. I knew this team had upside. Miles Austin just took it to another level though.

After this game, I told someone the Cowboys would not make the playoffs. I didn't figure they'd beat the Chargers, or the Saints, or the Eagles, and I figured they had about a 50/50 shot vs the Commanders in Maryland. I wasn't rooting for them to lose, but I had truly given up.

Now, I always DVR the games whether I'm watching live or not. But when I can watch live, I do. Well, I could have watched the NO game live, but I chose not to suffer through it. I figured if it was a close game, I'd watch it later. Usually, when I'm recording a game I'm not watching, I'll go to great pains to avoid seeing the score before I get a chance to watch it. Well, that Saturday night, I was in the supermarket, and I decided to check the score, to see if maybe I was wrong and it really was a game I should be watching. I was standing over by the fresh soup, and it was 17-3 Cowboys at halftime. I went home and started the game from the beginning, and I was back on the wagon. But there's no denying I was as off of it as I've been in years.

I remember a conversation I had with my dad (also a Cowboy fan) back in October or November. I told him teams get better as the year goes on all the time. How come it never happens that way for the Cowboys? How come they're always as good as they're going to get in September or November? Well, I say that every year, but finally, this year, the Cowboys actually played their best ball in December/January. Here's hoping the trend continues.

I remember being disgusted with how many people jumped ship after we started 2-2. Kinda surprising considering the lessons we learned recently about finishing strong.

Everybody acts like the best fan in the world before the season. Once the season starts you'll have a bunch of wierd crap going around. The blind, Homers, negative, haters you name it.

The Only thing I was mad at last year was Romo playing like a robot in the earlier part of the season. He corrected his mistakes almost all thanks to Austin.

And Garrett has some great game plans but for some reason to me He doesnt seem to adjust right when the defense is stoping us. Look at the Vikings game, that was the most stupid playcalling I have ever seen. And He tries to get cute in the redzone. Pisses me off.

The only time I can remember not wanting the team to win was at the very end of the 88 season and it basically was the Troy Aikman sweepstakes. If I remember correctly, us and Green Bay were tied for the worst record and we got the 1st pick off coin flip.

If we would have won our last game, we would have lost Aikman.

It was Green Bay's last possession drive for a GW field goal that I remember rooting for mightily.We already had the worst record tie breaker as Green Bay pulled victory from the jaws of defeat and won-----Tony Mandarich.

I am the biggest bandwagon Cowboy fan I know. Even if it means blatantly ignoring the facts. If a player has a star on their helmet I root for them to do good. I'm still a fan of Carpenter, Crayton, Spears, Folk, Roy Williams 31/38, and TO. Will they turn it around and become hall-of-famers or resurrect their career somewhere else. Probably not, but that doesn't mean I should root against them. Being a fan and rooting for your team to lose is just plain wrong. If your team loses, then they lose. I root for them because they entertain me, and besides it's a lot more fun being a fan on the bandwagon then a debbie downer.

The Cowboys could be 0-15 and have the number one draft pick waiting on them if they lose their 16th game and I'd still be rooting for them to win.

I get upset with the team, the owner, the coaches, etc. just like everyone else. I have my favorite players and the players I wish were on other teams. But come game day, I am rooting for every player on the team to play well.

Personally i don’t care about Bandwagon fans and what they do after what game. Bunch of posters thumping their chest about how great of a fan they are. Duh, your posting on a Cowboys Message board. Most here are excellent fans, even the negative ones.

Don't get me wrong, I was worried during the KC game because I thought we should have been clobbering them throughout but that was really the only time all year that I was more than a little bit worried.

I don't do the chicken little impression, things have to be pretty bad for the sky to be falling for me and frankly most times last season just didn't quality. While many were yelling about how awfully the D was playing I pointed out how much they improved every week.

While many were yelling how Romo was terrible, etc. I pointed out that his only genuinely bad game was week 2 and that he'd be fine.

Seemed to work out pretty well for me too, although admittedly Marty B and RW didn't turn things around as much as I hoped.
