Anyone notice Brad Sham's lack of enthusiasm?

I turn the TV down and listen to Brad through my Cowboys App on the Iphone. I also sense a bit of confusion on his part sometimes because of his odd vantage point of the game. His booth seems to be at an angle, and he often has trouble seeing the first down marker. It was different at the old stadium. He sometimes calls plays a 2 yard gain instead of a 2 yard loss, etc.

I think he is the ultimate professional, and I thank him for the years that I didn't have Sunday Ticket, and was using my dial up internet to find a free radio feed. As anyone who follows this team knows, you have to take everything with a grain of salt in the regular season. I do remember that he was excited on the radio during our last playoff win against Philly in 2009. He's seen better days for this franchise, and it is often tough to have the same enthusiasm in the regular season, especially with the lack of postseason success in recent times.

I've said this for years, but he's not very good on PBP on Cowboys games. Strange to say about a near-legend, but it's true. I know what you mean about the odd low tone sometimes on big plays, but that's not the only thing. He also simply doesn't do a very good job of describing what's happening on the field, which is his first duty as a radio PBP man.

The odd thing is that if you ever hear him do other games -- he'll do the occasional college bowl game -- he's very good at describing everything. I've always wondered if he doesn't get so comfortable with his surroundings at Cowboys games with Babe and everyone that he gets a little lax or something. Sometimes it's like he and Babe are two old friends casually watching a game and maybe he almost gets too comfortable in that setting.

I agree, I have never had to listen to a Cowboys game on the radio until last year when I was traveling. I listened to him on satellite radio and I really struggled following the game with him. There were many times when the play was over quit awhile before he got around to telling us what happened. Maybe if you've listened to him for awhile you get used to it.

Brad is tremendous, but yes, I hear the discontent in his voice at times. He's waiting, like us, to see affirmation that this thing is headed to a different conclusion.
