Okay, here's the video (because I knew it'd be an issue today). After 2 steps, I slow the video down. 3rd step is the left shin. The 4th step is the right toe dragging, all as Diggs touches him in the back. The ball only starts coming out after the toe drag. That's 4 limbs on the ground and a touch by the defender, which is down by contact. If Diggs doesn't touch him then it IS a fumble.

I don't expect perfection, but there have been a lot of wacked out calls league wide. Yesterday I didn't see any calls that seemed to skew the games I watched.

im pretty sure im not the only cowboys fan who today thinks...
1.dez caught it...we got screwed.
2.jerry kramer jumped off-sides...we got screwed.
3.the raiders receiver fumbled on turkey day...we got screwed.
4.the giants receiver yesterday fumbled...we got screwed.

Look at the receivers hand on the ball. That grip is steady and doesn't change until after the video ends. This is precisely why I cut the video there. The ball can move/tilt as long as the receiver's grip is firm. See Barkley's catch yesterday as well. The ball literally tilted/flipped over but his grip never wavered. Same for the play in question.

There are going to be bad calls and no calls in every game. They are human and the speed of the game is Fast, like very fast..they will make mistakes. What bothers me is when they make game changing calls, when they haven't called it like that all game. Or when they call a penalty on a rule that hasn't been used in 30 years or if they use the jumbotron to make a call, etc. They do well for the most part but there are times you have to wonder who is betting on the out come of games out there throwing flags.
The speed of the game seems to be too much for some of these officials. The average age of NFL officials is 51. Jerome Boger, who was the ref yesterday, is 66. The NFL needs to get serious about having full time refs and get some young blood in trained and in there so they can keep up with the speed of the game.

Here's a back angle that shows you how early Diggs touched him. Diggs touches even before the shin comes down so it's dead ball at that spot. The ball is clearly NOT out of the grip of the receiver as the shin touches.

The ball didn’t come out until after the hand went to the ground. Thought the ground couldn’t cause a fumble??

from the giants game yesterday.
to me...the ball was coming out before the giants shin was on the ground.
i thought we got screwed out of a fumble recovery.
But were you talking about the catch and the obvious football move then the fumble like the other game or the one like the Dez catch..

We have been watching the refs and complaining about being hosed constantly by them. Did anyone see any plays yesterday that raised a brow.

I saw another catch, football move and fumble. And the same Dez catch no catch called a catch yesterday. I guess they changed the rule after they hosed us in the playoffs. The letter of the rule is apparently now if he is contacted by the defender he no longer has to control the ball all the way through.. And I saw a few holds on our Defensive front 4 not called..

min Diggs INT, there were two OL holds not called but pretty clear as day.
I def thought that one play was either a non-catch or a fumble..
But overall, I was pleased to not have to think every big play was getting a flag for once
