Anyone noticed Detriot woes since Linehan left

Megatron being injured kinda gives that a temporary free pass.....I for one never thought Stafford was that good.

It's true...Stafford isn't 'that' good. But in fairness to him, that Oline is HORRIFIC...I live in Michigan and get to see them play more than I'd like. One of the WORST Olines in the league, maybe the worst. Their Center is a mental midget who's pushing 40 yrs old, guards are decent but avg and their tackles are below avg. I don't like Stafford and think he;s overrated but again....that line is hot garbage.

PS....Linehan or any other OC can't do much with a line like that. They should go the route of the Cowboys and draft young, stud Olinemen and do it soon. Stafford can succeed with a strong run game IMO, but the clock is ticking because Megatron isn;t getting any younger.

Nothing against Scott but I'm thinking that Bush being out for a few weeks now and Megatron in and out of the lineup with injuries is also a pretty big factor.

I think Linehan has been good, not great. I think the play call and execution in the first half of games has left a lot to be desired.

That said, I think he is miles ahead of Garrett. On defense I think we have a competent coordinator who has had a great degree of healthy players, but hasn't had the resources to put anything together. I think Rob Ryan could have been just as successful here given the chance.

Have you started the holiday cheer a bit early....
funny how in the off season many were putting down the signing of Linehan, saying we will pass almost every play.
I think more the most part, the play calling has been great.
Maybe part of his plan is a bit more conservative in the 1st half, then get it going in the 2nd. Others teams defense does have a bit to do with it. They get paid too to have a plan.

And Ryan could be have just as successful, no freaking way.....yes health has a lot to do with it. But no way Ryan could get a group motivated to play like Marinelli has.
Ask the Saints fans who they would rather have right now as a DC.

I don't know. Rob's defense was pretty successful last year. Which is why you guys didn't talk about him. I don't think that kind of quick turnaround is possible if the guy is just an awful coordinator. I'm willing to see how it plays out next year and beyond.

But I get it. The team moved on from him. So your mission, and you will accept it, is to discredit everything he's ever done.

Marinelli's defenses here have sucked large but with really cool nicknames. I have no idea why anyone is impressed by his work here. With the exception of the nicknames, of course.

Rob had an ok year his 1st year for dallas too.
Not discrediting anything he has done, I'm just glad he's not here.
Marinelli has done more with less, than what Ryan has done.

Not on any missions, just stating my opinion.
Guess you have a nickname mission, you keep posting about it.

The alternative is him having been wrong again about Marinelli, which is, of course, unthinkable.

Rob's gone. I'm glad, too, though I also never liked him when he was here. I want nothing but bad football outcomes for any of the Ryan family. Unlike his brother, though, Rob hadn't really ever done anything all that impressive in the league, so his mediocre showing in Dallas was not surprising. Didn't NOLA's defensive uptick also coincide with Payton coming back from suspension last season? Or am I a year off with that?

Wrong about what? I'd be interested in your distortion of anything I said.

Forgive me if I'm not impressed with crap. Which is exactly what this defense has been since Marinelli has been here.

You'd have to be capable of thinking Davon Coleman is a potential future starter to believe otherwise.

Forgive me if I'm not impressed with crap...

At least we can agree on the sorts of things we're not impressed by. You don't like our defense under Marinelli, and I'm not impressed by intentional mischaracterizations for the very same reasons. Who says there's no middle ground?

This is why you're a lost cause.

These last two years have been historic with how bad the defense has been. There is no middle ground. I'm not interested in soothing your sensitivities. It's been crap.

Please. I was criticizing the defense back when you were wanting to spend $60M and the #1 pick overall on offensive OGs. That doesn't mean the problem was the coordinator. The problem wasn't even the coordinator when we fired that fat stool spawn of Buddy Ryan. The issue on defense has been the talent.

Yeah, the problem is talent. You're learning now. We won't fix that talent problem if we're looking at spare parts like Davon Coleman as potential future starters.

You also showed your complete immaturity with your Buddy Ryan comment. This is probably why you get so sensitive when you read biting (accurate) criticism of your beloved team.

Ryan wasn't the problem. Marinelli has fixed nothing. This defense sucks and has been the worst the last two years. So any and all Marinelli love you've read here is complete nonsense.

As for me wanting to spend money on an OG, you once again lied here. This seems to be a recurring issue you have. You must be hoping I won't say anything and this lie can become something everyone accepts.

Nobody here has ever read I wanted to spend 60 million dollars on any OG. That is a boldfaced lie that you just made up. What they did read was I would have never wasted 50 million on a bum like Brandon Carr. I'd have spent, wait for it, some of that money on Ben Grubbs.

Not sure why using the #1 overall pick on an OG is somehow supposed to be a negative. But then again I'm not butting heads with someone who knows football. We all have seen the impact of an interior OL. There is no reason why you should avoid the possibility simply because of position bias.

Nobody would bat an eye at a CB going #1 overall. That OG is ten times more impactful than any cornerback.

You really don't want to go head to head with me on moves we would made in recent history. I'm like years ahead of you. You just found out Phil Costa couldn't play a year ago or that Matt Johnson didn't belong in the league a few months ago, for crying out loud.

Ive noticed their receivers still get open as always so im not buying that our scheme is hurting our wrs!
