Anyone remember Kevin "Pup" Smith?

I know back in the day i was a big fan of PUP....I remember a buddy that was a raiders fan told me once that Kevin Smith was the best cb we had! lol

He was real good until he suffered either an achilles or ACL. He was never the same after that.

yeah, one of the few times I ever saw Rice completely frustrated

Local guy from Orange, Texas. I remember him well. Played both ways in HS, his team won back to back state championships, and was recruited as a WR at LSU but went to TAM and was great as a DB and special teams player (returns). My BIL's cousin coached him (HC) in HS.

He actually played OK/good in 1996 after the achilles injury in the 1st game of the year(vs NYG) in 1995. By the late 1990's injuries were piling up on him, costing him effectiveness, and he retired in 2000.

Post injury he wasn't near the player he was. Those quick twitch athletes have a tough time if they tear an Achilles.
