Anyone sign Roy Williams ?

The Bengals worked him out a while back, but they didn't sign him. When his asking price goes way down, he'll get signed.

I dont think the problem is his asking price, I think the problem is he sucks.

:laugh1:

I just think that his heart is no longer in this game. He's made his nest egg and is ready to move on.

My crystal ball is cloudy but I see him out of football and preaching full time in two years.

It's probably a combination of asking price as well as teams focusing on the draft.

Very few deals are being made right now. Most are 1-2 year deals. He probably wants something around 4 years.

Its a shame, our defense these past 2-3 years with the Roy Williams we used to see - would've been fun to watch. My man used to fly around the field, making plays, bringing the thunder over the middle - then all of a sudden, he sucked.

I still don't get it. I'm sure Woody leavinig had a lot to do with it, but he went from guys having to find him at the l.o.s. every play - to teams trying to isolate him and expose him every opportunity they could get.

And to think he was our starting strong safety last year. Liability....Gone
I don't know who lost it faster, Roy or Julius.

Roy - Julius never really had it, just flashed.

Reality check for Roy and Tank. Neither one will be missed.

I think teams just figured out how to exploit Williams in pass coverage and he was unable to adjust.

On the bright side, at least now we don't have to argue with all the Roy apologists who claimed none of those broken coverages or completions were his fault... :D It hurts me to say that, believe me, being a Sooner fan I just loved having Roy on the Cowboys those first couple of years, but that was short-lived. :(

I doubt the years really are the issue. Roy knows as well as anyone that contract length is BS. If he wants a 4 year deal what that REALLY means that he's asking for a considerable signing bonus. He wants a guaranteed payday rather than a show me deal.

Either that or he's waiting until all the voluntary workouts are over.

The draft is going to slow these things up for anyone not signing a deal for no more than a year or two. The only exceptions to things like that are guys resigning with teams they were cut by, like Rolle with the Ravens.

Shocking that no one has signed Roy yet, what with the stats & KC Joyner showing how great a player he still is.

I remember, going back to last season and before, talking about our defense and the fact that we were very soft up the middle. Heck, I think we still are but hopefully, that improves. As long as we are soft up the middle, we will never be able to shut other teams down. Every team knows it and come playoff time, it hurts us. We gotta fix that if we want to win.

I think teams are waiting till after the draft to start really sorting through the remaining available FAgents

why sign Roy Williams now when you might be able to get a comparable, or better talent, for cheap from the draft?

Roy, if he does sign a contract, will probably be as a stop-gap player
