Anyone think Romo will make the walk in Canton?

I know this one is way out there, but it's fun to see what people think Romo's career will look like in the end.

Time isn't on Romo's side. At 27, Romo will only be in his second year as a starter, making any thought of a run toward the top of the career passing charts extremely unlikely. Then there's the possibility that opponents were starting to figure him out toward the end of last season, when he produced a few clunker performances. But unlike JaMarcus Russell and Quinn, Romo is piloting a competitive team. It will take multiple Super Bowl victories, however, for him to become part of any serious Canton discussion.

Please just stop.

Sure he has a shot. If he wins a Super Bowl or two and is among the league leaders for 7-10 years. Age 27 means nothing. Roger Staubach was 27 when he started out.

Absolutely, the late start will have little to do with were his football legacy stands around the year 2020.

All these HOF QB's have a prime playing span of 4-8 years when they were at thier best. They may play 10,11,12 plus years, but their best results and championships are usually consolidated in a small window of prime years.

Aikman's a great example. Two subpar years on a bad team to start his career and 4 more average to subpar years on a mediocre to bad team to finish it.
It was the 6 years sandwiched between. That was the key.
From 1991-1996 Aikman made all his probowls (6), won all his playoff games (12), and his Superbowls (3).

Most of the HOF QB's closely follow this pattern.

I hope Romo's career follows more like one of the exceptions...Staubach.
He also got a late start, think he was just about the same age as Romo in 1971 when he got was named the starter week 4 or 5.
You look at his carreer efficency numbers there's not much difference from 1971-1979.

Romo puts in 8 more statistcally strong years like last year and delivers two championships he'll go.

Way too early to even think about Canton. All we want from Romo right now is to show he's becoming an elite QB. Length of career won't be a factor to make HOF but quality of play will be--consistently high QB ratings most years, pro bowl appearances & particularly SB wins (where his play is a major contributor).

I'll say it again. I could give a rats Hairy Butt( put it nicely:rolleyes: ) about Canton and Romos chances.

Win Games and bring Sbs to Big D..Everything else is secondary.

I'm not even thinking about that kinda stuff man. He's yet to start a full year. Any talks of Canton are obviously premature.

I can't even believe anyone would speculate over something like this so early in the game. I don't even think there has been enough playing time under his belt to even remotely consider it.

Almost the end of the first page before sanity actually crept into the thread. Why don't we speculate about Alex Smith and Jay Cutler? There in the same spot as Romo, still haven't proven they're legit starters but so far so good.

Romo is what 27 with 10 career starts?

Odds stacked against him making Canton. Tho football is the one sport where a QB wins a SB or 2 he gets monster Hall love.

There's a Danny White vs. Troy Aikman debate ready to bust out....

I'm sure there is a "make fun of Cowboys fans" thread in ES over this...
Lookit! I didn't make this wild farce up. It was in an artical done on ESPN.com. Is it way out there? yes. I have already said that. Romo was in the "Odd man out" section, stating they didn't think he had enough time to make it. Larry Allen was in,T.O. and also Demarcus Ware. "IF" it was to end as it started. As for the Extreme Skins, they can ****,***!!!!!

Seems like a perfectly reasonable thread to me. It isn't a prediction thread or anything of the sort. It's simply asking whether there's enough time, even if he did have an amazing career. It's a legit question in my opinion considering his age.

He is 27 years old with a half a season under his belt. Not even Kurt Warner and his flash in the pan epicness can get himself a ticket to the door to Canton.

Romo will need a Tom Brady-like career to even get a chance at that.

This is such a silly thread.

Far-fetched is legit in certain circles. It stimulates the mind to think "Out of the box",but I guess some of you would rather stay in it!:cool:Theworld is not always safe,so buckle up and wear clean underwear.
