If you say so. I know some 6'+ receivers that are pretty shifty as well.

ones who fill out their frames can
Can you name some 5'8" RBs that have lasted long in the league?

Look. Being 6 foot isn't a good thing for a running back. That we can agree on. It's better to have a lower center of gravity. Why? Because you're taking hits and being lanky isn't a good think when balance is key. However, being short doesn't make you more shifty. Being short doesn't make you quicker. I have no idea where you got this idea. It's also pretty commonly accepted that 5'8" RBs can't typically take the long-term beating.

I just find it pretty coincidental that the most of the shiftiest players in the league are under 6 foot

it's also commonly accepted that upright runners, can't typically take the long-term beating as well, it's harder for a tall RB to keep a low center of gravity

D'Angelo's height doesn't scare NFL people, so why should it you?

It scared plenty of NFL people. The common meme before the draft was that he would be a top 5 back if he was a inch or so bigger.

Williams is a short running back who lacks the bulk and size to break tackles consistently. He is much more of a dancer than an attack-style runner -- when there is no hole he does not attack the line of scrimmage and tends to go down too easily. He is quicker than fast and lacks the elite playing speed to outrun the defense for the long touchdown -- no top-level explosiveness. He is undersized as a pass blocker and does not consistently use good technique, which leads to his man pressuring the quarterback too often. This lack of size will hinder his durability in the NFL.

Might be too small for some NFL squads, but has had an excellent college career at Memphis, piling up eye-popping yardage en route to nearly 8,000 all-purpose yards in his career.

Couple things....

I like JJ, but I would trade him for Ronnie Brown in a heartbeat.

As far as the game went against New Orleans, how many times did you watch the game? I'm just curious. Because the first time I watched the game, I was majorly disappointed with the run game. But then I read somewhere that the Saints basically started putting 8 and even 9 men in the box after the first drive. So I went back and watched. And that is exactly what happened. What does that do? It puts WR's and TE's in single coverage. Our QB's pretty much had their way with the defense through the air. You take what is given.

Does the run blocking need to improve? Sure. But just focus on the big picture to see if there isn't a reason why something is happening. Parcells said when Carter was here that one day we would pray teams would blitz and stack the line. If Owens is healthy, that day is here. Because Owens, Glenn, and Witten will shred that.

and Steven Jackson was supposed to be a top 5 pick

and notice his knocks are that he lacks bulk and size? not that he's too short? and most of those are scouting reports, not NFL people, cuz one team full of NFL people decided to take him in the 1st round
