Check out the starting lineup on Christmas day. I'll let you in on a secret.....Julius Jones will be the starting half back.

Whatever. MBIII is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better and everyone knows it that can objectively watch the games. If you can't, then I got something you can check out and guess what.... it's not the starting lineup on Christmas Day.

For us, it is the 16th week of the season. If it were the 6th week of the season, there is a chance that Parcells would make the switch. Leave it alone.

People vaunt the 7.3 YPC Barber had tonight. Maybe it is because he was so well rested after not playing last week when Jones averaged almost 12 YPC. In case you forgot Barber ended with -1 yards.

Who does better is all dependent upon when the O-Line decieds to block. If they block better for Jones, he will get more yards. If they block better for Barber, he will get more yards. Tonight they blocked better for Barber. Jones was a lucky trip from busting another run for 50+ TD.

This argument is the most tiresome of all. I'm sure the whole O-Line has it out for poor lil Julius:rolleyes:. JJ is not without his talents, but Barber is consistently better in ALL facets of the game. But if you guys wanna wear your JJ throwbacks and pretend he's Emmitt's heir apparent, go right ahead. I have my jersey as well, but guess what I wish it was #24 and not #21. MB3 is just getting started.

MBIII is effective becaue he rests the entire first 3 quarters of games, while the defense gets tired. Then he comes in with fresh legs, with a tough running style, that just dominates tired defenses. Julius is just a decoy, you see who is in the game when its on the line, certainly not Mr. Two-Yards Jones.

Not me.

Barber is better and should be playing the majority of the time.

I want JJ to succeed. We NEED JJ to become a better compliment to MBII is the bottom line. MB is doing his part. JJ isn't running off instict. He isn't adjusting, cutting and finding daylight the way he should. MB has a beutiful first "drop" step and bounce to find daylight. We need JJ to become a better TEAM.

Keep some things in mind as you evaluate these two: Who seems to run with more passion and power? From what I saw last night it is Barber. He put the team on his back last night on that last drive and willed his way to the end zone. He put that game away for us, period. For that he desrves more playing time if not necessarily the starting job. To me who the starter is doesn't matter. What matters most is who is getting the ball at crunch time and producing. Barber is that guy and if you can't see that as you watch the games you are kidding yourself. In week 16 Parcells shouldn't worry about egos. Yeah, keep Julius the starter but go to Barber as soon as you need to and ride the hot guy. Lately, except for one 77 yard TD that guy is Barber. I want to see more carries from this guy. And also don't forget that when JJ was hurt last year Barber did a great job as the every down back. The running game gives this team a big advantage and I think what those of us calling for more Barber are saying is ride the hot hand as long as you can and right now that guy is Barber, not JJ. With the way the defense is giving up big plays to guys like Michael Vick who are questionable passers, we need a hot running game to keep the opposing offenses off the field.

I think they both have a place back there.

Run J.J. between the twenties and MBII in the red zone.

Complimentary backs.:D

no argument here..

marion runs with a passion that is quite infectious to watch.

i love marion barber the third..

As we all know, they each bring something different to the table. I like Julius, but I do think that some of his instinctive running style has been coached out of him. Barber may not be the fastest guy around, but that does not seem to take away from his effectiveness at all. He is a real spark for the team. I equate his effect on the team to Romo's to some degree. When Romo came in and scrambled around in the pocket and dove for extra yards he inspired the team. When Barber comes in and carries people and runs with what can almost be described as an anger, he inspires the team. I know that every player should give 100% on every play, but when your RB keeps getting hit and doesn't make the first guy miss, subconsciously guys get frustrated. When a back comes in and makes that first guy miss then carries another two defenders for 4 yards you want to block even harder for that guy. When you see a guy running with such purpose/passion, it makes others want to do more. It's infectious and I think that's the intangible that Barber brings. I still like Julius' explosiveness, but he appears to be more limited overall. Here's the question everyone should ask themselves if they really need an answer to this Jones/Barber question..."If one guy had to go down with injury, which one would you choose?" I'm pretty sure most would select Barber to stay healthy. Not a bad poll idea, but including injuries to Cowboys players in a poll can't be good luck. Besides, we're all a little sick of this topic anyway. I'm just glad we have both guys!
