Anyone worried about safety still?

I believe that Parcells still hopes Davis can get better at FS or that Reeves can do the job and he may harbor hopes that Watkins can step in. When Parcells talks about Watkins I get the impression that he is really impressed with the kid and is trying to curb his enthusiasm knowing that Watkins is not ready yet.

Where have you heard this, I dont remember hearing Parcells talk about Watkins. But thats good to hear b/c Watkins stole my heart about 3 weeks ago.:starspin

FWIW = "For what it's worth"

Parcells talked about him in his Friday press conference. He didn't really talk him up or down. He just mentioned that he's never had a player that tall, but that today's players are much different (dimensions-wise) than older players.

Did you just say "getter done"? I think the use of that phrase speaks volumes about a person, but actually using it and misspelling it is, well, just sad.

I dunno. That poster may have heard something different, but I've heard just about every spoken word by Parcells since the draft and I don't recall him being overly excited about Watkins. I honestly don't think he thinks much of him.

Parcells has consistently said that Beriault is in the mix for FS, he even said he was anxious to look at the tape to see how he did. The Cowboys consider their safeties interchangeable, he can still see if Beriault is making the right reads and making plays on the ball even at the strong side. If everyone in the mix at FS was playing FS only, they wouldn't have many players behind Roy(camp fodder types). Its a neccessity that Beriault plays both, if Davis loses out as starter then he would be playing some strong.

I wonder if this is how they plan to use Coleman as a FS?
In their 3-4 base Coleman starts and comes up to CB when teams counter with 3WR sets.
Remember last year Ware would slide out over the slot to redirect his route and the safety would take him. This would allow Ware/Carpenter to blitz effectively against the 3WR set and play the run.

Very real possibility.

I'm not too worried, out of Killer, Marcus, Watkins, Berry-O, one of them should be good enough to man the position well for us, I'm really excited about Watkin's prospects

Between Killer round-two, Coleman, Watkins' potential, Berry-O healthy, and Pile we are light years ahead of where we were in 2005. Even if it means Killer starts opening day, at least we will know he has truly beaten some intense competition from no one named Scott or Dixon.
