Um, you may have missed something. I'm not sure.

Ummm.. Like what?

The fact that this is a lame thread.? And, anyone even thinking about AP in Dallas next year is insane?

No,, think I got it... Thanks..

Dallas doesn't need AP. They need to keep building with young players and get it done.

I think there is a good chance this could happen.

Murray is going to want big time money (Rightfully so) and he's likely going to get it from some one.

AP has expressed a desire to play for the Cowboys, back in his home state, and there is a good chance he's going to have to look for a smaller type of contract due to his off the field issues that have stained his reputation.

I'm not 100% sold this will happen but I definitely believe there is a good chance of it happening.

I think so, too. If the money's right, I'd be for it. He was a legitimate superstar the last time he was on the field. He'd add another dynamic to this offense.

I'd also consider adding a speed WR from the middle rounds when Harris leaves in FA. Other than that, I'd save everything for the defense.

I agree with you for the most part, but the offseason is obviously here now. Saying it's too early is silly. You knew this topic was going to come up.

I think you need to put some in at RT also. Probably resign one of the two that are now FA from us. Honestly I prefer Free, as you can probably have him for shorter contract.

I think they do put something else into the RB position, either resigning Murray or signing a FA. If the price is right I definitely kick the tires on AD. Of course you can get me to agree to just about anyone if the price is right.

I'm down with this. The only thing on offense I'd say possibly think about going after is a RT, only because our two are FA, and I'm never opposed to continued building of our offensive line. But this offseason must be at least 85% or more about defense.

Why not? Romo and Witten arent getting any younger. And Andrew Luck isnt walking through our door...

This is not the NBA or MLB where you're stuck with a bad contract if a player becomes washed up...

Nice thought

But he is a big play back. Not a grinder and we win with ball control.

The reason we have to grind is because out defense wasn't good. If we get some players who are good at sacking the QB, then we won't have to grind. Murray should have had 2k yards this season. He does not have the speed to take it all the way from 50 yards out. Whenever he gets into the secondary you see him look back to ward off tacklers cause he knows he will be caught like Marion Barber used to.

It's my priority in the offseason. No matter what the Cowboys do on defense this offseason they're going to have to win with offense in 2015. The defense needs too much to be a strength next year. Romo's not for long. Murray's a free agent. The best back on the planet will be available and wants to play here. Make it happen.

Yeah. I've got it in my head that we'll probably sign Parnell and let Free walk. Since we stashed OTs on the roster this season, I think one of them is the swing next season. But if we lose them both, that's another hole to fill, for sure.

No, they aren't. But, this isn't the Dallas Romo/Wittens.. It's the Dallas Cowboys.. And, youth is needed, so hopefully they can be good for years to come. Russell Wilson, Brady, Rodgers aren't walking through the door either. Cowboys still need to go for youth. Build up the team. Start grooming Romo's successor.. They have made this mistake before.. And, it killed them for years..

AP is going on 30 , or is 30.. Let that sink in. 30.. Has had some key injuries and is just too old for a RB for a team that is young. And , that is getting better. Find the youth. Find some nasty animals for the DL and OL.. Dallas would be in a good spot then.

Has to be cheap. I'm fine with Murray walking if you bring in AP cheap and spend money on the defense. AP and Randle could split the carries. He's ?30? but seems to be one of the rare exceptions.

AP will do a home time discount. It's really up to him what happens with the Vikes. AP 4.5 YPC with a line not close to the Dallas line. You guys that say no to AP are nuts. This guy may have lost a step but is still a cheaper and better than Murray.

AP behind this line would be so much fun to watch. I'm a little worried about his age, but again, he seems like an exception to the RB rule.

If he comes cheap with an incentive-laden contract you have to do it. Spend the money on the defense.
