You can challenge my scouting abilities but here's some analysis from people who get paid to do it...and they thought it sucked too...enjoy

Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys traded down and drafted a bunch of players who won't even make their roster. What is the point of that? Out of their 12 picks, maybe two of them will contribute in 2009. Not good.

Peter King writes:
• Dallas. A draft only Mel Kiper could love. Who knows these guys? Sounds like a special-teams jamboree in San Antonio this summer.

Pete Prisco from CSB Sports gives us a D+.

but our special teams should be awesome......

i think that is what the cowboys were thinking,
1. save money by trading down and getting player in lower rounds to push some complacent players
2. then, since they lost basically 2 games last year on special teams, and if they had won those 2 games on special teams like last year in arizona. The cowboys would have been in the playoffs. So, in conclusion, i am thinking the cowboys improve the special teams, possibly they can win those 2 extra games and maybe push them to a 11-5 season or so.

But the cowboys are forgetting one thing, a big huge major issue with them last year, they had the issue of special teams, and i think they have improved there. The other big glaring problem is the sloppy play of the team, unprepared in games, maybe out of shape, and that goes back to OTAs and training camp. Must be a more physical camp with no extra days given to players when they lose a game like the arizona game. YOU just dont reward a player by giving him an extra day off when he plays a sloppy game!

It's terrible to you because like alot of typical fans that dont see what efforts that go into scouting players 24/7 year round, you dont know jack. While your mowing your lawn or typing nonsense on this forum, a scout for the Dallas Cowboys is attending a athlete's Pro-Day, private work-out, talking to a prospects former coach or mentor. Dont spout off on all these "experts analysis" on our draft. LoL. Dont even mention it if its a media member with no NFL Scouting/GM background because its about as useless as your opinion.

It was definitely..uh..interesting.

Yep special teams will be better but that was a given anyway once they fired the coach. A high school coach could have done a better job last year than he did.

I don't see anyone to go "ok geez I'm so glad he's a Cowboy!"

The Eagles are gonna be the team to beat next year. Hope the Cowboys do just that.

LEt me ask you a question, much like people that get excited over the combine, do they grade the draft a team has based on need, inexpensiveness, and depth? Or do they grade based on who they thought the team should have taken, much like fans?

Ross Tucker lol, the only thing I remember about him was getting his autograph when he was with the skins lol. Some little kid called him Jon Jansen and he just kinda chuckled.

I dont know why everyone is in armageddon mode, we got 13 players that will be able to come in and compete, and the best ones will get to stick around.

Im sure if we looked back some of you guys were probably taking the shoe laces out after the 05 draft cause wah wah wah jerry sucks at drafting!

Im pretty pleased with what we accomplished this past weekend.:star:

Our scouting director Tom Ciskowski said before the draft, that we already have our 22 starters in place and that depth was the priority. The only rookie that has a chance to unseat a starter is Jason Williams over Keith Brooking. Which is why I wanted him so badly in this draft. Williams is going to play on most of the 3rd downs as it is. Brooking simply can't compete with Williams' speed and that will be evident from day one. All that is left to know, is how many games will Phillips allow Brooking to start over Williams....seriously folks.

silverstar....you couldnt be anymore right. this guy is a beast. he should get a lot of playing time. mike mickens also is a potential draft steal also.

with victor butler (4 sacks against Pitt in the Sun bowl) & brandon williams we got 2008's sack leader in the Big IV conf. & Pac-10 Conf.

but I guess thats nothing...LoL. Career back-ups....I bet pleny of guys said the same thing about Jay Ratliff.

i would've loved to see competition at the following positions:

  • LT
  • SS
  • WR
  • LG
  • ILB
  • LDE

This team is not perfect by a long shot. we need at least 1 or 2 impact players to get over the hump and win a playoff game.

To say that we have 22 starters is being miopic. sure we have 22 starters all teams in the NFL do. It does'nt mean all can play at a winning level though.

we have a bunch of guys who are replaceable.

No draft can be accurately graded until after a few years.

Which is why Carpenter and Watkins need to go now.

Really, what second or third rounder is going to compete with Hamlin and Adams. ARe you really expecting just cause they are young means they are better. they dont have the experince or the awareness these guys have due to playing on the field.

WR, really, some second rounder is going to step on the field and produce wonders, even if we nailed the one gem, hes still always going to be a rookie for the entire season and you know what, hes going to make rookie mistakes.

SS......Gerald Sensabaugh vs. Michael Hamlin/Deanglo Smith/Bruce Thorton

LT.....There was no-one that could compete w/Flozell this year

WR.....Crayton/Austin over No.2 spot......Stanback....M. Johnson over 4 spot

LG.....Kyle Koiser/Montrea Holland/Brewster (Rookie)
