Appeal officially filed

It will be interesting to see if it takes 10 days for the hearing or will they get on this right away? I never felt there was a question of if Zeke was going to appeal this and now that he has how long will the NFL drag this out or will they try and put this behind them quickly?

I'm not even sure why there is an appeal process considering Goodell levies the suspension and he is the same person who looks at the appeal. If he already knows everything, what's the point?

The NFLPA leadership have got to be one of the stupidest groups of people on the planet to agree to let the NFL levy all punishments without any real recourse by the players except for a paper-mache appeals process.

I would think besides Zeke and his attorney that DeMaurice Smith head of the NFLPA should be there during this appeal.

The "appeal" is just a way for Zeke to negotiate a lesser punishment, IF HE WANTS TO. I think Goodell would be willing to cut the punishment to 4 or even 2 to avoid the PR mess that's coming, but Zeke may not want to accept anything less than total vindication (that he will never get). Here's hoping Zeke puts the team before himself (very hard to do, I acknowledge, if he's been falsely accused) and accepts a lesser punishment and we all move on.

I hope they take into consideration the girl is a tramp and a gold digger who got scorned when she lost her sugar daddy.
This don't have anything to do with law or ruling. Doesn't mean you're not right however.

My suspicion is that they will take close to -- if not all of -- the entire allotted time to schedule and then proceed. And I think that is to Zeke's advantage.

His attorneys have indicated that they plan to challenge the credibility of the accuser and the process, and I suspect that the briefing and factual supplementation will be massive. And even though Zeke's lawyers likely have already been working on those submissions (probably for weeks or months given the looming possibility of a suspension), the arbitrator(s) who ultimately hear the case (it remains to be seen whether RG will exercise that authority alone, as part of a panel, or will farm that out to Henderson or someone(s) else) will need time to review the submissions before a hearing.

So while I would like to see a prompt resolution, I will be surprised if they do not use all the allocated time.

As with all of this, however, we shall see . . .

Your right it has nothing to do with law, ruling, fair play or common sense. I take it any player can be accused and that is enough for the league

Awesome. Glad they are fighting this. F you Goodell.
This was automatic. Everybody appeals to the league.

The fight is after the appeal. I don't expect Goodell to reduce it all, maybe to 4 games but that's it.

Then we'll see.

Yes and No. Football is a short career. If they strike for a year or 2, probably half of the NFL would not return. They have 0% leverage. If this were baseball, different story.

So. The appeal has to be heard in 10 days? Or just a hearing has to be scheduled?
