For every idiot that spends their families last hard earned dollar on trips to Oxnard, there are realists like 95%+ on here that no longer fall for all the BS that Booger and Chuckles are shoveling. For every ONE idiot mugging for the camera at AT&T in a Great Gazoo sized Cowboys helmet, there are TEN knowlegeable fans watching at home patiently in a wait and see mode...all the while secretly praying that Booger will but on a pair of black NIKE's, pull the sheet up over his head, and take an extended nap. All fans are delusional. It’s part of being a FANatic. Almost zero of us are completely objective about our favorite team. It’s what makes a ton of fans see the myriad of “bad calls” made against the Cowboys, but cannot see the bad ones that happen to opponents. Because…we’re FANATICS.

Every fanbase has delusional fans, realistic fans, normal fans, overreactors, etc., etc. Dallas has the most entitled fanbase, which goes with the territory of being America’s Team.

Most of us are normal. We grouse about the 27 years, watch the games, and hope for the best. If we lose, we lose—it’s just a game. Explaining everything and labeling everything gets tiring. I can like what I want and believe what I want.

Speaking for only myself, I'd say so, yes.

I am able to realize that theres a fairly large gap between what I hope happens in any given season vs what likely will, and could reasonably call that gap "delusion."

They're talking to and serving who is still there.

The fact is there isn't enough sports to meet the needs of all the radio/TV/internet talking heads. It's the same sports with the same number of players but it is now 50 fold on where it was with talking heads just 25 years ago.

Remember the first time you watched ESPN? I think I just watched with my mouth hanging open. Now, there are far too many and few really good ones that provide thought provoking content. It is all about ads and clicks and serving the lowest common denominator. Or you get the yellers like Smith, Sharpe and Bayless. "I don't have much to say so I am going to yell it very loudly for impact".

Sports just followed news. Once upon a time they asked the questions to get us thinking, now they just want to give us their answers.

Every year is our year. I think about mid season must of us are back to reality. I think most of the hype is not fans being delusional. Some years we have a legit squad or could do more. Coaches, org, and bone head players let us down. Odd how some teams are able to do more with less.
