Are Cowboys Legit Contenders?

Here is the question you have to ask.

Can Wade go into the laboratory and come up with a game plan that stymies the Saints...Viks...Colts...Packers...or any other team.

I mean a defensive plan that shuts down their offense and leaves them relying on their defense to stay in the game waiting for a lucky break.

Now some here will argue, but that is what the Packers did to us. They came up with a way to shut our offense down.

You can argue the refs, but the truth is we were neutered by that team.

Can Wade do this to others?

I've seen other DCs do this. Not just to us.

So does Wade have the ability to put his players in the right place to stop the best in the league for one game?

Phillips has been outstanding this year calling plays, simply outstanding.

Our defense did stymie the packers offense. Go look at rodgers numbers. We kicked their butt. The offense turned the ball over and had the strange replay issue basically give the packers 7 points.

Griping for the sake of griping is boring. Griping about wade phillips defense this year makes u look like a looney.

and for what its worth, I believe we are going to give up some points against the saints and the chargers. They are just very good. That is not a bad reflection on wade phillips or the players though.

I expect our best defensive effort of the year next sunday and I think it will lead us to a win.

They're 8-3 and leading the NFC East so yes, I'd say they're legit contenders. I think this team's challenges are more mental than they are physical. If they can minimize the mental mistakes then I think they can give anybody in the league a good run for their money.

I think Dallas needs to win this Sunday to get a jump start on the December stretch before considering them contenders.If Dallas can come out of December with some confidence they will be considered a contender,if they spit and sputter I think they'll be considered pretenders.

Unlike you who tends to rely on the insult as a debating tool, I will point out that our schedule has been pretty easy. So until we play one of the best in the league, all the speculation in the world about how stout our defense is is moot at this point.

I might concede the Packers game because they can score and it was recent enough to be pertinent.

But looking over the teams we have played this year doesn't offer any real scary teams on the list.

They are on the horizon though. The next three weeks will tell you all you want to know about this defense.

I don't know. But I'll tell you this much, I believe that this game against the New York Giants will be one of two test seeing if they stand a chance to win against MIN or NO...
