Are fans ready to accept the Micah trade devasted our defense?

Micah is a great player but one player an entire defense does not make. I stand corrected if he wins games for the Packers with just him on defense.

packers defense before Micah was good. He does give them the one thing they were missing and thats the ability to get to the passer and create havoc

Yea, all of a sudden with this #1 offense if we even had an average defense we could be a contender in a NFC which looks wide open.

This must be keeping Jerry awake at night. That's why I think he regrets Parsons trade and why he will 'gamble' the Green Bay picks in next few weeks provided we don't lose the next 2 games.

I hate the move. But I am also not an idiot, although there are those here who might feel differently.

But the reality of this trade in the short run looks stupid. But the reality of this trade over the next 16 months will be significantly different.

There is a possibility of adding 4 first round picks - 2 in 2026 and 2 in 2027. Two second round picks - 26 and 27. And one third round pick in 27. That is seven top 100 picks in the next two drafts. (Unless Jerry is a complete moron, which he may be.)

Lose the skirmish, win the war.

The Cowboys would have had two first round and two second round picks in the next two drafts without trading Micah Parsons. In trade they acquired a DT closer to the end of his career than the beginning of it and will be expensive to retain next season and two first round draft picks, one of which isn’t until 2027, from a team that was already very good and the Cowboys made even better.

I hope Jerry doesn’t dislocate his shoulder patting himself on the back over the Parsons transaction. Those two “late in the round firsts” in the hands of a professional general manager would have some significance. As it is, they don’t mean much.

I’d agree if we were actually in rebuild mode. But Micah’s failed negotiation which led to last minute bail out trade some fans are interpreting it as an indicator our owner is in rebuild mode. When in fact he’s still All In with Dak can still contend and win now.

That’s fair, but some good things happen by accident.

He can most definitely screw it up though.

With Dak's play etc, we had a shot this year (with Parsons)

Dak and the offense are good enough to get us to the playoffs, but not through. Seen this movie plenty of times already, dating back to the Romo days.

The good news is that the offense is basically ready to go for the next couple of years and we now have the resources to build a defense they can lean on.

GB won mostly because of 6 sacks at critical times to keep the Cards out of the end zone. Micah had 3 of those sacks.

On a play Parsons was double-teamed, perennial pass rushing disappointment Rashan Gary (who is suddenly on pace for a career high 15.5 sacks) had a big sack causing a fumble (the only turnover in the game) that led to a GB TD.

Football is the ultimate team game, but if you ask 100 players, fans, coaches, and players associated with the GB Packers who it was that was most responsible for the team winning on Sunday, 99 will tell you it was Micah Parsons while the other, suffering from senility, mumbles something about Curly Lambeau or Vince Lombardi.

I'm just glad he had at least one traditional dominant #11 game, so we don't have to hear anymore "Well... he's not doing anything in Green Bay" to justify Jerry throwing away the best pass rusher in the NFL due to ego issues.

Green Bay did not trade us our own picks

People need to stop including Dallas picks as part of the Micah deal.

Might as well list the next two years second and third round picks as well

“Are you happy he’s out of here” was not the poll question. To be honest, it wasn’t one of our better built polls and didn’t offer a well rounded set of options.

I voted that I supported the trade, not because I felt we were a better team without him, we aren’t, but because Jerry had bungled the entire thing so badly, there was no way to keep Parsons without Jerry holding a gun his head.
