Losing a preseason game is not what people are mad and worried about. it's seeing some of the dame problems we saw last year back again. bad special teams and to many penaities.stop trying to make it seem that people are worried about a preseason game.

We got debacled by the San Diego Charges. And Pacman Jones looked like Jacque Reeves. We're never gonna get to the doggone playoff like that.

Make jokes now and cry later. remember how it felt when we lost that playoff game to the giants? this team still has problems that has to be fixed.it's no joking matter.

It's one preseason game. We didn't have any injuries and the first team looked good. If the ST unit continues to get abused I might start worrying.

I have a feeling they'll be working on outside containment coverage drills all week.

I think we all know that this team is a contender.....

I think most of our expectations was to have a solid game.....IMHO I dont think most of us cared if we won or lost this preseason game.

But IMHO we didnt look prepared......our special team units are bad and even tho we were probally using alot of bottom feeders on those units.....so were the Chargers and they looked much better.

I think its safe to say our starters are pretty good and the NFC East will be a battle this year because I think the other teams in that division are pretty good too.

Its good to have big expectations ...but we might of got caught up with all the hype the media has been giving us about how much talent and depth we have.

We do have a solid team....but there is still some questions here to be answered.....Special teams is my biggest concern.....its 1/3 of the game as Jimmy Johnson would say....our kicker and punter are very good but our coverage units are hurting.

I think our draft picks will be ok......Bennett bothers me and if it wasnt for having Curtis here I would be complaining more and I think the LB we drafted on day two is practice material stuff.

oh...also.....our backup OL has some issues.......I think Free might be a player....but I didnt see anything last nite from the other guys that look like they could be a future starter here.

All in all......I think most of us think this team is a contender but I think we also realize that there are several teams like those Chargers last nite that have as much or more talent then we do.

The gameplay after the first team goes out shows depth and talent.

First team looked pretty solid. After that...it was pretty sloppy. The Commanders looked sloppy at times too last night. So don't take that as a curt way to say your team sucked.

Out the gate, they played good football. Once the second team came it that swagger wasn't there. Nor was the execution.

At least you guys have Todd Collins and Colt Brennan behind Campbell.

Brad Johnson and Richard Bartel scare me. The 2nd string Oline play may have been subpar but Brad Johnson was holding the ball way too long.

There's a big difference-Campbell is good, but he's replaceable.

Romo-however, the entire offense revolves around him, especially utilizing his mobility. IOW-WHAT backup QB out there can run this O the same way?

If we have to worry about Brad comming into play this season for a long period of time.....then we all know our season is done....same could be said for the Patriots....Chargers...Giants...Indy...etc..

But I sure would like to have a young guy back there to groom.

I hated Brad when he was in DC. So I understand.

Brennan looked out of place too many times last night...thankfully he is a rookie. Collins missed a couple of easy reads and made the game closer than it should have been.

Defensively the Commanders did not play as well as I thought they should have either.

Bartel would scare me. Johnson with a solid OL can get the job done. He is as Parcells used to say a "bus driver".

Rest of the game better be solid though and the playmakers...will indeed have to step it up.

There are a number of 'irreplaceable' players on the Cowboys and pretty much every other team in the NFL worth mentioning.

Unfortunately, injuries are part of football, and someone always has to step up during the course of a season. If the coaches have no confidence in what's behind Romo, we may as well save two roster spots and cut BJ and Bartel. Crayton can play some QB in a pinch and we can keep two of the good players we'll have to cut to make the final 53.

I have to agree with the point of the thread but special teams is looking horrible, when the owner complains about it in an interview you'd think it's something to focus on....
