Are the contracts a distraction?

In order to make a run these players have to pull themselves together. The coaching has never really been good enough to win in the playoffs. Players have to execute and win despite the coaching. Very hard to do.
They won't. Players need leadership and direction.
Some of these guys are thinking, why am I risking injury for this team if the new guy will probably replace me. Thus, the missed tackles on defense.

Those missed tackles look like a high school team. It’s sad. Our staff just stands there. I would be benching some of these players. Just because you may be out of a job next season don’t mean you quit doing it now. Show some pride.

NO!! Don't disrespect HS teams. We play with a lot more heart than professional players. I guarantee that..at least in Texas.

Not disrespecting them. Most of the HS players and coaches do it for the love of the game. And show heart. Just saying there skills aren’t as well developed as the pros.

Somewhere along the line the money changes them.

Only in this sport the fans seems more worried of the players money than even the players

Money changes a lot of us.... unfortunately, not always for the better.

NO..thats a bs excuse. We are poorly coached and the team has been coddled for 25 years plus. The lavish entitled atmosphere is toxic. It creates mediocrity and no real desire for results. WHY SHOULD IT? The PT Barnum of the league created this mess. Now he wants someone to come in here and fix it? lmao...

It can’t be fixed while JJ continues to demand complete control. He could hire a great team of football staff and sit back and drink, let them run things. Swoop in and take credit after we win a SB.

It’s human nature. You work your azz off to get paid. Once you get that big payday and guaranteed money, it’s natural to get lax to some degree. These NFL players are no different than us, in fact probably younger. It’s just their paydays are a lot larger.

I think some players may ease off the throttle if they get paid well. I don't see that with D-Law though. His shoulder injury has hampered him, and it's slow to fully heal in this brutal contact sport of football.

I also think other players that get paid a lot work their heines off because they don't ever want to lose that edge that got them those bucks to begin with. Most players don't get this far from Pop Warner to high school, the college ranks and the NFL because they are solely motivated to make big bucks.

The contracts have been a big distraction. It seems like there was too many players with their hands out at the same time. This season has been the biggest mess of any season in memory. To have this much talent , play this bad, has resulted in an epic failure that is going to require more than just a coach to fix it. None of the big contracts have paid off and that only makes me question giving out anymore big contracts until this mess settles down. After seeing so many of these players quit, it might require a total rebuild by the new coach.

This was actually mentioned before the season started. Some pundit said they need to get Dak and Cooper signed before the season. So it would not linger on through the season.

I swear Dak did not run as much when he could have. Wanted to force the pass, pad stats and not take the hits to risk injury.
Now I totally do not mean that, but just seemed like it at times.

Seems like the only ones who are worried about it are fans. Dak is having his best yr of his career, minus a couple of bad games. And amari has been very good eventhough hes been hurt all yr. And said this is where he wants to be.

In this sport some of us fans spend thousands of dollars supporting the team so the team can pay the players millions. Its why the money issue is so open and public. There’s no reason why fans can’t have opinions about the money, because, ultimately the fans make this money possible.!

If I was the GM our team might be a mess but I wouldn’t be giving in to players demands. I know that SJ is starting to get more involved in contract negotiations but I do think that dad steps in on the big player contracts.

D-Law would be sitting at home right now or would have signed a lesser contract. His agent said to hold off on the surgery. If we didn’t sign him when we did no other team would have signed him knowing he wouldn’t be any good till half season. Could have strung out negotiations another month and then let him sit at home for the year. Would continue contract talks at the end of season. Don’t come at me holding off surgery to hold me and my team hostage.

Elliot would be sitting in Cabo or standing on the sidelines right now and Pollard would be the one with 1000 yards rushing. I would have let him hold out. He could join the team by week 6 to get credit for the year but wouldn’t really use him. Our Offense isn’t really using him now and he wasn’t in shape till week 4. Don’t come at me 2 years early demanding money.

Jaylon signed a descent contract. And Collins signed a descent contract top 3 or 5 money.

on D...Bennett and maybe like 3 other players are keepers going into 2020. EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD BE ON NOTICE,PERIOD. That includes Jaylon and X.Woods. We need to trim the fat on that side of the ball. ADDITION BY SUBRACTION.

Dak and Cooper put off signing in hopes of committing robbery like these other players have done. Collins seems like the player that is living up to his side of the bargain. If Stephen has learned anything from this, I hope it is not to be bullied with threats of sitting out or holding out on having a surgery to give in to players demands. Let them sit a year.

I do think we will see a lot of new faces on the Defense. Jaylon don’t look near as good with out LVE on the field..With the addition of some talent on that side of the ball I dont understand how they look worse than last year..
