I miss the days when the chatter was about the team being a Super Bowl contender or simply a playoff contender.

Nowadays, it's about the team's ability to get to .500

Man, how the mighty Cowboys have fallen.

We know the defense will be ... trying. We know we will yield yards and points.

Can this offense go next level. That has to be the goal. This offense has to be elite to carry this team to a winning season. The pieces are in place. The Niners stand before us as an ultimate week 1 test.
Dez says the league doesn't know what they're about to do. That's good enough for me right now.

The pre-season is over. Now the fun starts. My prediction: we will be mediocre with an outside shot of improving around mid-season. We will be one of the most explosive teams in the NFL but we will be equally porous.
Look for thrillers galore this season. I'll say 8-8: with an upside of 10-6, and we will upset some heavy weight teams this season.

With more cap $ next season, we will make our move to top of the mountain. Let's not throw in the towel yet. The Niners are a great week 1 opponent for this team. If we can get a W in wk 1, anything is possible the rest of the way.

The great thing about sports is that the speculation eventually ends and we get real answers when the real games start.

Rod Marinelli will have to produce the same type of miracle that he did for the D Line last year on the entire defense this year.

I don't think we're ready but I also feel like San Fran isn't ready. So week 1 should be a good game.

I remember watching games last year and Tony had to line up guys right for certain plays. I know it happens league wide but the Cowboys look poorly prepared a lot of the time.

At least Tony knew the plays.

So no I doubt they are ready.

I would not say they are ready now but given some waiver wire luck they could be by next weekend.

Thats the way I feel ...This team is going to be bad ..real bad . Im seeing 6-10 ..Some people seem to think that making the playoffs would be like a superbowl win...This team has the same problem the last 10-15 teams have hade ..There soft

I have a sneaking suspicion this team is going to stink.

Prediction is very difficult and, yes, this team has the pieces in place for a powerhouse offense. Yes, Marinelli could work wonders. Yes, the rest of the division could be awful.

My suspicion, though, is that we're going to stink it up.

I like the way you think even though I'm sad to have to say it. When our scrubs can't compete with
other teams scrubs and our 1st team defense plays like a sieve, we are doomed. Better hope
for lots of action on the waiver wire...

Doesn't matter if they are ready or not. From here on out, they count.
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

After watching the game, I know they are ready to give up a lot of 1st downs from 5-yard defensive holding penalties. That call is going to get old fast, across the league..........

Not this year. If we beat the 49ers, no way they lose to the Titans. this is where I see the difference in this team this year. They will have improved just enough to win that 2nd game.
Now doesn't mean they go to the Rams, and win that one, but they would have some postive momentum to do so.

You want to elaborate what this difference is you see in this team this year?
If anything, I feel our run defense got worse and without Scandrick for first 4 games, our pass defense may be worse until he returns.

The refs won't be calling that nearly as close as they have in preseason. It was over the top big time the last 4 weeks.

I hope the whole team will be trying and trying real hard, not just the defense.
