It's a damn top heavy team that's forced to scrape the bottom of the barrel to build around the few players who command a hefty portion of the cap...
Balt averaged 6.1 per carry. Cowboys 3.2. Balt had the ball 35 minutes to Dall 25. The Ravens were in a prevent in the 4th. They wanted to run clock and get out of there.
Well Rusty there is no place that people see what they wanna see like the Zone. I will leave it right there.I mean, true, but they rallied. The team showed heart in the 4th quarter. Maybe I'm grasping for straws, but I saw something there.
Coaching. Teams figured out how to beat this team. What makes you say that? Cuz I can't help but wonder if it's, even in a small way, psychological.

I think the psychological component has been a big struggle for them in the playoffs. I would throw coaching in there too.As I watched the 4th quarter and saw the team rallying to where they started to look like the regular season Cowboys of 2023 as opposed to what we saw against Green Bay and New Orleans, I started to wonder something. Are the Cowboys struggles at home so far psychological? I'm not a mental health specialist, but I do understand that the mind can be a nasty place.
The reason I ask that is because it almost seems like the mentality in the team started to change in the 4th quarter following Aubrey's second successful onside kick. In the Saints game and early on in this game, it appeared the Cowboys didn't believe they could win. It almost seemed like, in some weird way, their mindset when they started to fall behind was almost like "here we go with the Packers stuff again. We're still no good." I know they will never admit this, especially since they are professional athletes. However, I've had that mindset before with my own tasks. They, like all of us, are people. They're not super human. No matter how they try to hide it or try to compartmentalise it, the loss to the Packers would be damaging psychologically.
Additionally, when the Saints got ahead two scores, it almost seemed like the team gave up. This game, it seemed like they were giving up. I wonder if something was said or if it was just the recovery of the onside kick that led to them wondering, "what if? What if we score?"
It seemed the psychology of the team changed in the 4th quarter. Shame they didn't play that way the whole game, but maybe this game could be good long term for telling them to just stick with it. Psychology is a weird thing, and every human is affected by it. Who knows? Hopefully, that 4th quarter spurs the Cowboys on the rest of the way.
No. You don’t get it. They didn’t figure anything out.Sure, but there might be something psychological as well. Hopefully, the Cowboys found an identity in the 4th quarter that they can use.

There are some really good football players here, but this team just looks lost. Things go wrong and the mental mistakes just continue to compound.

The ravens also missed a field goal and failed to recover an onside kick, that was pretty lucky on the cowboys part
That's the hope that whatever they did in the 4th quarter it gave them a little confidence on the offense moving forward. They need to use more uptempo to find their rhythm. I know you could apply more pressure to the defense that way if you don't score but they're not stopping anyone anyway. Not to mention, we just took on a team that was a fumble away from the Super Bowl last year. we had a really good rally. The team's mentality looked different in the 4th quarter. Maybe there's something there McCarthy can use for the rest of the season.
The missed field goal and onside kick was also pretty flukey. Cowboys had a lot of little things go their way to get it closeThe psychology changed because the Ravens became pretty conservative and went into time management mode.

Yeah, ton of penalties too. Love that this team battled instead of deciding to pack it in, but you're right a lot went their way in the 4th that you cant count on being there regularly. The missed field goal and onside kick was also pretty flukey. The soul of this team was crushed by GB last January. It was a baffling offseason and huge error in judgement running this back and thnking it was fixable with less talent.
Say what??????? Prior to the GB butt kick'in the Cowboy's home record was one of the best in the NFL, so let's not give these panty wastes and excuse for their lousy play. Both NO and Balt have man handled this defense and the offense isn't any better. As I watched the 4th quarter and saw the team rallying to where they started to look like the regular season Cowboys of 2023 as opposed to what we saw against Green Bay and New Orleans, I started to wonder something.
