We could wear blue, white, purple, or bright orange, but does it really matter? :laugh2:

Why are the 'skins wearing white jerseys?
What's your source of info for that one?

I read it on one of the Skins message boards.

There's got to be a web site that features all of the various uniforms that the Cowboys have worn over the years.

They should have worn white. Now we have to wear blue twice in one year vs the Skins.

I love that uniform. Those throwbacks are far and away my favorite uniform. We had a damn good looking team in 62.

I opted to get the Julius Jones jersey in the thanksgiving throwback mold. Plain and simple, those are just dope

I think what he's getting at is that Washington makes us wear our blue jerseys when we play in Washington. As far as I know, they're the only team that does that. It's supposedly bad luck or something. It doesn't seem to have been that bad for us over the last 15 games against them though.

We are playing at home, so why are we concerned about Washington's unis? We should be wearing white like we always do at home...it is the home team's call!!!

Well this must be the thread for the people who have no respect for Cowboy tradition.

Allow me to break up the party.

There is no uniform for the NFL's most recognizable trademark other than metallic Blue and silver. Opponents must wear their home (colored) jerseys here because good guys wear white.

Saint Tex ordained it. Saint Thomas approved it and the Rams and the Commanders so hated the uniform of the Dallas Doomsday Defense that they actually wore their road whites at home several times to break the intimidation factor of the Cowboy uniform.

Anyone not understanding this needs to turn in their Dallas Cowboys Fan card because you are buying what Jerry's selling. The uniform is not about looking good in blue or white it's about Tex redesigning the uni to shed the Cowboys early image as losers--in his own word's.

Of course it matters. Team colours are part of the identity, the mystique. It was those sharp blue and silver uniforms that made me become a fan back when I was 6 years old and didn't really understand the game.

My point is that we will beat the Commanders regardless of our colors.

And we wore blue last year on TDay. It was our call then too. Maybe Jerry is just smart enough to know that those throwback uniforms look great.

And it was those sharp throwbacks that made a lot of other people fans before you (when they weren't throwbacks). The throwbacks have more significance than anything we are wearing today, they are almost identical to the uniforms the team wore when it was first created.

And we don't have the image of losers anymore, so I guess if we wanted to we could go back to the original now with no problem. Nobody associates the Cowboys with losing. Anyone not understanding this needs to turn in their Dallas Cowboys Fan card because they don't realize that the Cowboys history goes beyond Superbowls, and that a lot of guys sweated and bled to build up the team to the point where they could shed those uniforms and their image of losing. Now we can honor those guys by wearing that same uniform and winning. Maybe Tex should have done the same instead of trying to sweep them under the rug. ;)

You missed my point. I was saying that the colors a team wears are significant as they play a vital role in its identity. However, I'm not sure that I agree with you about the throwbacks being more significant than the current outfit simply because they were the first uniforms worn by the team. The home whites we wear now and the away blues (for my money the most beautiful in the league, yet I prefer them wearing white- superstition and all....) were our identity during our last run of dominance in the early '90s. Three superbowls were won wearing those colours (the 70's uniforms were almost the same- the blues a bit lighter.)
