However, I'm not sure that I agree with you about the throwbacks being more significant than the current outfit simply because they were the first uniforms worn by the team. The home whites we wear now and the away blues (for my money the most beautiful in the league, yet I prefer them wearing white- superstition and all....) were our identity during our last run of dominance in the early '90s. Three superbowls were won wearing those colours (the 70's uniforms were almost the same- the blues a bit lighter.)
And yet the team started out in the throwback. If they never existed they would never have won. I agree that the look plays a part in the team's identity. But plenty of people liked the look prior to the modern uniforms to become fans. And nobody can convince me that we can't wear the throwbacks simply because we won more games in another uniform. These uniforms are copies of what we wore at the team's inception (although these particular throwbacks are from 62, so I guess they are slightly different). They have as legitimate a claim to history as any other uniform the team has ever worn.
If someone doesn't like the look of the throwback, fine. But don't tell me they are not significant or worthy simply because the team wasn't winning when it was created. The men who wore those uniforms layed the groundwork for the teams that went on to win Superbowls. Bob Lilly wore that uniform. Don Meredith wore that uniform. Don Perkins wore that uniform. And countless others who built the team up to it's position as a contender. That's good enough for me.
