How many coaches have we had the last 2 decades? For years, I heard about this guy's "window" or Romo's "window" when the fact is the Cowboys didn't even sniff the SB by reaching a conference title game.

Yes. Zeke is great and you can't replace a player like that but they have 3 running backs that can get the job done. They all bring something different to the table. Maybe Dak has to throw more and I'm fine with that. He's had a full offseason with Dez. Beasley will do his thing. Butler looks like a guy that's going to get more opportunities. The Cowboys are at least prepared to win some games without him.

I know this is going to be a unpopular opinion here and I'm honestly not trying to troll, but I didn't think Dallas was a contender with Zeke, as he doesn't play defense.

You have a much tougher schedule than last year, an inexperienced defense, and there is a year of tape on your 2 biggest young offensive weapons. Your biggest rival (Giants) has your offense figured out.

They are not a Super Bowl Contender without Zeke for two reasons:

1.) Jason Garrett - Game Management and Lack of understanding of X's & O's
2.) Suspect Defense - Pass Rush Concerns

If Bill Belichick or Jim Habaugh were coaching this team without Zeke temporarily I would say yes. Why? They would hide our weaknesses and would not get out coached in my opinion.

We need healthy production from Lawrence, another solid season from Mayowa, Taco has to bring it, and between Moore, Irving and Crawford we need one of them to bring consistent pressure as well. It can happen, but it will take time.

I think we should prepare ourselves , meaning fans, for a dismal start. It could be more of a struggle than we're anticipating with or without Elliott.

They *can* win a title but they have to pressure the QB in the playoffs when it matters. I think they have a chance this year to do that but it's not automatic. Dak, Zeke and Dez played excellent against Green Bay in the playoffs. Defense failed. Gotta improve there.

I don't recall the predictions last year after Romo went down but it wasn't long until we realized it was looking pretty good with Dak.

After a few games I certainly don't recall any 4-12 or 7-9 rhetoric. Even in the opening loss we were feeling we were in much better hands than 2015 without Romo .
