Are we already going the Garrett route with McCarthy?

We've been going the Garrett route since before Garrett. We are going that route now, and we are going that route in the future with Moore. MM can walkabout for another year or two, then it will be Moore's turn. Quinn would be too commanding as HC, and Jerry isn't about that.

Nobody has addressed yet exactly what he does game day to "make a difference" in winning a game....nor has anyone addressed yet, why a "walk around" coach with nothing to do but manage a game does not confer with and demand what approach Junior takes in critical situations of a game....I cited two (2) very critical situations above where he clearly dropped the ball.
MM looks better compared to what we had before!
But he still needs in instill better attention to detail, better situational football awareness and football IQ into this team.
He also has serious clock management issues.

This is where I stand as well.
Game day influence, difference maker or advantage.
Quinn had his guys ready.
Fassel's guys missed an XP but then rebounded with 2 FGs and a forced fumbled punt.

BUT the biggest and most glaring lack of impact was on offense.
Where McCarthys 20 plus years experience lies and more than 15 as a play caller.

And don't hide behind the Kellen's offense BS when the HC is standing there with all these past credentials doing nothing, smh.

That's my beef with this HC.

Garrett had no business here. McCarthy has a resume, comes from a legit coaching tree, has a championship and has a better plan than Garrett ever did. We might not be happy with the results, but he’s done more in 3 years than that clown in 10.

That is all I have been saying when people go on and on about the interception before the half against SF. Either McCarthy is not allowed to interfere, or McCarthy agreed with the decision to throw the football on 2 and 2. If either are true...we're screwed!!!!!!!
I think Jerry told Mac that the Offense belonged to Moore as a condition of him getting the HC job.
Anyone disagree?

How many seasons of Garrett before you knew he was not the answer ?

I mean, to be entirely fair to Mike McCarthy, Garrett posted three straight 8-8 seasons. He should've been gone way before the scapegoating.

Mike has posted back to back 12 win seasons. His seat is lukewarm, but it shouldn't be hot yet.

75boys I dont think Mac is allowed to mess with the Offense.
I think that Jerry told Mac if he wanted to be HC that was Moore's.
I have not seen anything that would change my mind about that.

Totally agree jvb, but my beef is in McCarthy doing nothing even when things are quite obvious Moore needs assistance.
McCarthy's personal decision to NOT insert himself into challenging in-game offensive situations that could use his help reveal a cowardice to his character imo.

2007. Should’ve never been hired. That team was ready to take off and both of those coaching hires were laughable. But a no experience OC?.. typical Jerry.

The Garrett Redemption Story, aka Moore to HC has been the master plan all along...
From retiring being a practice squad QB to (possibly) an NFL HC in exactly 5 years–quickest acension with minimal coaching experience ever (outside of Jeff Saturday).

MM has been a breath of fresh air. We finally have S's and a NT. And it shows. Now, it's time to upgrade elsewhere.
I mean Kearse is very good in his hybrid role and Wilson is a perfectly fine SS…but you’re really content with Malik Hooker and Jonathan Hankins?? We could/should do much better

Specially considering where they were, but on top of both those things every phase of this team is better.

So a SB winning coach is not top notch?
MM won 1 as did Sean Payton only won 1.

Both won 1 time with HOF QB's. But yet Payton is made out to be such a better HC.
Mac is a good coach, but he is being given the complete control of this team.
If he was, he would install his offence.
I think Jerry has hamstrung him with Moore.

Oh no, not content. Need a coverage S and another Hankins type.

Remembering all the scapegoats that Garrett left in his wake while he survived for nine (9) painful years, are we already three (3) years in moving deck chairs around on the Titanic by firing personnel without totally cleaning house and including HC? I hope not. McCarthy brings nothing to the table in my opinion....he does NOT make a difference during any given game. He didn't even grab Junior by the arm and insist he run the ball in the last two (2) minutes at Jacksonville...he didn't insist we run on 2nd and 2 at SF. These are the things that a WALK AROUND HC has TIME TO DO during any given game. He lied to get the HC job....he admitted to not knowing all of the offensive terminology (no wonder he doesn't want to call plays)....I still maintain as others in the know have, that the guy is lazy. We can do way better...look at the teams we've beaten the last two (2) years to achieve 12-5 records....not all that impressive when you break it down.
Not all that impressive, I agree, but at least we're not 8-8

Maybe Mac is afraid to meddle in the offense because Jerry told him to keep his hands off?
Mac has made some rather bizarre comments about the offense like he did not know the terminoligy or plays?
Is is just weird.
Mac's expertise is Offense.
There's more going on here than we know about, I suspect.
