Mac is a good coach, but he is being given the complete control of this team.
If he was, he would install his offence.
I think Jerry has hamstrung him with Moore.

I have an extremely hard time envisioning Payton letting Moore be assigned as his OC by Jerry.

TRUST ME....I am NOT calling for Kellen. And the "be careful" warning is tired...ask Iowa fans who have been limited by Kirk Ferentz for the last 15 years. The teams that push all their chips in, are now winning Super Bowls....with one of them about to win another....MM will NOT be contending for any Super Bowls, unless he rides another HOF QB's coattails not named Dak to a Lombardi.

There's been many coaches with hall of fame QBs. That's a lot of coattails.

Nobody has addressed yet exactly what he does game day to "make a difference" in winning a game....nor has anyone addressed yet, why a "walk around" coach with nothing to do but manage a game does not confer with and demand what approach Junior takes in critical situations of a game....I cited two (2) very critical situations above where he clearly dropped the ball. As Noluv4Jerry pointed out, maybe he did confer and came to the same brain dead conclusion that Junior did....if so, God help us!

I have. NTs and Ss. Monster of a difference.

MM went 6-10 his first year, as Dak got injured and we went w/ Andy Dalton and a D that couldn't stop a baby turtle.

Since then, MM has won 12 games for two consecutive seasons, as we finally have a D that can make some stops and have a legit NT and S's who can play. They're not the best at either position, but they at least are legit, and a far cry from Nick Hayden and Kavon Frazier.

I dont think Mac is happy with his level of control , but wants to keep his job.
This is an aspect of Jerry's meddling that really hurts the team.
To be fair, I am speculating at all this, but Mac's comments dont make sense unless something else was going on behind the scenes.

Yep, that kinda relates to my other angle McCarthy related.
Nobody put a gun to McCarthy's head to take this job.
He was not broke.

Fired from his previous job and out of work for a year.
Not in high demand.

His agreeing to a HC contract included the retention of Moore as OC.

Now that that's established, his absolute personal choice to not involve himself offensively with this team is a cowardly act.

To hide behind and use It's Kellen's offense as an excuse with his experience and pedigree as a head coach is pathetic.

That's my version of McCarthy.
I don't care how many regular season games he wins.

Took me years to realize what he was doing and why it was the right stuff. I've come a long way since then in my understanding of football.
