The Cowboys have always been a class organization and one of who NFL fans either love or hate. Over the past 10 years we've spent high dollars in FA on players that did not live up to their expectations. It seems that at one point Jerry was using the Daniel Snyder philosophy of ridiculous FA spendings (and we all know how that turned out). Nevertheless this brings about my thought of the Patriots and how they are doing things. They get people to buy into the "Team Work" method, without the "Me First Ego Method." I don't know about you guys, but I am enjoying the ride thus far, and I'm hoping that we continue to develop players within, use our draft wisely, and add a little patchwork every now and then (like Brooking).

It appears that the majority of our off season moves of late have been very positive.

Sensabaugh, Igor, and particularly Brookings are the type of unheralded moves by organizations like the Patriots that quietly build winning teams. Let's hope it pays off in the playoffs.

I've had the same thoughts this year... I know Belichick >>>>>> Wade and all that, but the way we've integrated moderately-priced FA into the system this year (Sensabaugh, Brooking, and Igor) and the way Wade has emphasized everyone having a role and playing it well to help the team (guys like Bowen and Choice and Scandrick) does remind me a little of the way the Pats have tried to do it.

Granted, the Roy trade and Jerry's love of the cameras aren't like the Pats. But the way we flushed the bad eggs from the locker room in the offseason and the constant talk of suppressing individual egos do remind me of the way they try to do things.

We haven't blatantly cheated, covered up the cheating, then gone after a former employee's credibility when the former employee was just telling the truth in a scandal where somebody else blew the whistle.

Personally, I'd rather become a bit more like the Steelers, except with an owner that doesn't care to be subsidized by the rest of the league.
