Are we better off, the same, or worse now?

The 2025 season ended about 4 months ago. After FA and the draft, how does the current roster compare?

After that **** show from last year,its almost impossible not to be better.

I think what we need to understand is that every other NFL team signed free agents and drafted good players.
So every other team improved as well.
So the better question is:
Did we improve more than the other teams?
That answer won’t be apparent for quite some time.

Of course better but I think there is too much positivity around the defense.

There are an awful lot of what-ifs, including the fact that the DC has never actually been a DC lol

And where is the pass rush coming from?

Defense will be much better - overall top 14-20 in yardage/scoring. The run defense will be stout. Still have some concerns with generating a pass rush on passing downs but maybe Parker will get creative in generating pressure. I believe he will have to. The offense will probably show some regression but remain a top 7-10 unit.

Law and Bar won’t start.

Downs and DeeWill will start.

Our LT needs replaced.

Defense just needs to be average. 8)

The defense was so monumentally bad that any improvement towards being even mediocre will make us a double digit win football team.

The answer......... we have no idea. We have 7 new starters, a new DC (literally), and a whole lot of hope.

Good news is that it won't be hard to improve on last years disaster defense. The bar is very low to declare improvement.

How much we will find out

It all comes down to how good a DC Parker is; and that is an unknown.

That's a factor, but talent is first. If we've added enough talent, then we'll find out if Parker is an NFL DC.

That's only true if you're poor at analyzing data and info.

First off, the defense cannot possibly be worse than last year. There are a lot of question marks on defense, but I just cannot imagine, even if those questions have negative answers, the defense getting worse. If Downs turns out to be the guy everyone thinks he is the defense will be much better. But they still need a pass rush.

The offense will be the same really. No major additions or subtractions. They will be better if Guyton improves - and Steele. I can see Javonte Williams dropping off from last year, but I can see Blue improving as he matures.

I think at this point, they will be a little better as a team. I do not see them making a major leap forward though.
