It just seems this week that the annointing oil is being applied on thick by the media, by the fans. I realize that it has been a long time since we've looked this good. But, oh man, the season is only at the halfway point. There is still a lot of football left. Why is everybody acting like this team's success is a done deal?

The only people that matter regarding the "message" that's being sent out is Phillips and the players. Wade has addressed this with the players this very week. He basically let them know that 15-1 is NOT the goal. It's the dance, baby. The big top! The players are fully aware that little has been accomplished. I take solace in that. It's all I need at this point.

As long as the team is looking at one week at a time and don't look too far ahead, it doesn't matter how giddy we get or media's assumptions.

How much can we talk about if we, the fans, can only focus one current standing and current status?

At 8-1, we can be giddy and we can talk about all the scenarios that we think may occur at end of season, these talks/dreaming doesn't have slightest impact on our team.

I don't know. I just think that there is too much football left to get too excited. A lot of things can happen between now and the playoffs.

So true, but I get the feeling that this Cowboys team is different from what we've had in recent years. Under the last regime, we were always wary of a letdown and we always got it. This team seems to have the killer instinct I've been harping about the last few years. These guys put the opposition away. And other than the occasional mental lapses, they seem quite focused. We'll see if they meet the media's and the fans' expectations.

Yep, you are!! The Boyz are 8-1, winning games on the road, beaten teams by double digits, and are playing damn good football. This is a confident, aggressive, talented, and well coached team. Our Boyz are good, enjoy it and stop waiting for something bad too happen....

If people (fans) are counting on a Super Bowl, yeah, I'd say it's too early. Anything can happen (injuries, a clunker game in the playoffs, etc.)

To me, this season has "sit back and enjoy" written all over it. It has been a wonderful ride so far. No matter what happens in the next 3 months, what's going on right now is great. So why not enjoy now now, and let the future take care of itself? That's how I'm thinking of it, anyway.

But different people have different ways, and that's what makes life interesting.

Yes, we are. I hate overconfidence. The same folks that are boasting will be sweating bullets and messing their drawers at the first sign of adversity Sunday (I'll be one of them too ).
