Are we getting another Taco, Trysten or Mazi?

That is exactly what we should be aiming at. When we go WR/RB/TE w/ our 1st three picks, we'll know it's more of the same and that Jerry is an anti-football guy along w/ being very dumb.
They are screwed and they did it to themselves.

They had a realistic shot to at least go a little further when MM was here and chose to go light up the gut, and got creamed…even though the same thing had been happening for years.

They have had bad drafts recently and chose to not make that up in free agency.

They are at least two excellent drafts in a row (which may not even be possible in this weak one) away from getting back to contention….and what does the QB room look like at that point?

Unfortunately it’s gonna be a while for us sir, but at least these clowns will finally be exposed. Hanging my hat on that these days since winning is out of the question.

Jerry still thinks he is going to win with the opposite of what historically wins in January. Maybe someone ought to tell him that they sell plenty of Carter jerseys in Philly

....We know how the past has treated us. Unfair and un-lucky regarding some high picks. Lets hope they pick some winners this time.

I mentioned Mazi. Because Parsons believed this guy was going to knock it out of the park. Two years in, and we're still waiting for that Aaron Donald to arrive.. ;)..
Or are we getting another Parsons or Lamb? Bad isn't the only scenario. I wouldn't put Mazi in the bad category for now anyway. His story isn't written yet.

Yeah,
It's like the 1st rd d line scouting and 1st rd oline scouting are exact opposites.
Well, up until Guyton that is.
But the previous first rd 4 of Tyron, Zack, Fred and Tyler all met or exceeded their 1st rd pedigree expectation for olinemen.

Taco and Mazi are total busts as d linemen.
Unfortunately from the same school.

But I'm a huge fan of Graham(3T)and Grant(1T) from Michigan this year and man would that be a 1-2 combo to immediately change the whole defense and allow the team to actually be legit playoff contenders.
That's what I want out of this draft.
2 impact DTs.
And a RB.
Hell I will even take the kid from Texas Collins - not much in the pass rush department but at least he is going to show up to plug up the run.

You either have the fight or you don't. In two years Mazi has shown us exactly what he is - a human turnstile. Someone who is a body to soak up snaps but not a stud who is going to change the outcome of a game. In fact I don't think we've had someone like that since Demarcus Ware left.
Have you watched the Cowboys? Micah Parsons is a disruptor.

Give Mazi another year before putting his name along with those two.
On film, Mazi has made some improvement. He's not flashy and he isn't going to be Aaron Donald. But he's a worker. That said, using a 1st round pick on him was probably a reach. if he were a 2nd or 3rd Rd pick, he'd look better and would have a longer opportunity to develop.

Those 1st rounders gotta be immediate impact guys. 2025 is his last chance to prove he was worth that 1st round pick.

His former teammate is going to contribute right away. I just wish people would stop associating the schools of busts with good players from the same school also being busts simply because they went to the same program.

Kenneth Grant is going to be a monster in this league. He's already a great run stopper. But he has the tools to develop into a premier pass rusher as well.

Parsons also said getting Jalen Carter was a championship move.

He's who I think they take. I'm not his biggest fan. He's better than Mazi don't get me wrong but there's at least 5 other 1 techs I'd rather have.

His physical traits and athleticism will make him a Cowboy though I bet.

Yep, I hear ya man. I want Williams or Grant as the first pick myself.

Grant is a freak. 340 lbs walking down RBs. He gets into the backfield quick too. Tells me he can become a good pass rusher as well.

All of those guys were late first round picks. Much higher than 12…

Yep his get off is nice for such a large dude. Grant's skills are what I mentioned to you in an earlier post of my Dexter Lawrence praise.

That girthy run stopper but still with pass rush havoc.
Dare I say Sapp like?
I know, maybe a little early there but thats the skillset I hope to see playing out too brother.

Grant is my 1.
Williams is my 1a.

I think Grant is more complete/well rounded.
I think Williams is more the prototypical gapper/plugger and also highly effective as to the run stopping needs of this team.
I wouldn't be mad with either.

^^This. Mazi had a mid season stretch last season where he graded out among the top half of all NFL DT's. He did improve last season, but it went unnoticed because so many people have a preconceived notion that he sucks and have written him off as a bust.

Took me a while to look into DTs. Some sites have Grant rated 35.

To me, that's super low.

My gosh yeah.
If you told me the Cowboys could pull off a small trade down and pick up an extra 2nd and then a Grant and RB Henderson or Grant and RB Judkins 1st and second round then come back around to the available 3 techs and get one...

I would be very very happy.
