Keep in mind that the Cowboys will likely have 9 draft picks this year. If they trade back at all, they will probably have more draft picks than that. That really gives them a lot of ammo in the draft to attempt to fill holes, at a LOW cap cost. If they don't spend any money in free agency then they will probably get a few comp picks next year as well. That is how you build a team that lasts, and a dynasty is built.

Lamar Miller

I'm sure you enjoyed the Brinkley signing last year. Probably really got off when we signed Bryant Westbrook. They both really got us over the hump

You wanted to pay Lamar Miller more than we were offering DeMarco Murray last year? Geez.

The Cowboys brought back a former draft pick on Thursday, signing cornerback Josh Thomas to a one-year deal.

Thomas, a Cedar Hill product, was cut by the Indianapolis Colts during last season. He was signed by Dallas in the final week of the season because of injuries to cornerback Morris Claiborne and safety Barry Church.

Thomas is most well known for being the guy Dallas took instead of Richard Sherman. Dallas drafted him in the fifth round of the 2011 draft out of Buffalo. He never played a game for the Cowboys. In that same round Seattle chose Sherman, who was a mainstay on Seattle's Legion of Boom defense that helped the Seahawks to the Super Bowl. Sherman has played in every single one of the Seahawks' game since he entered the league and he's been named to the Pro Bowl three years straight.

Cornerback is a prime need for the Cowboys.

good example of talent evaluation by the jones.

could have picked sherman, but they didnt see anything at all in sherman. so they wasted a pick on some guy who wound up
never playing for them till end of last season.

But hey they are doing something, aside from trying to lowball murray again lol

One day passes and its full on freak mode.
This threads baffle (and kind of embarrass) me.

So now it's day two and Dallas already has a decent signing with Thornton.

Thanks for checking in :) Hope you aren't too embarrassed when we go 8-8 again next year.

Glad to know so many people are okay with continuing with the status quo. It's really worked out well for us the last two decades.

Can't pin that on Jones. Not when each team passed on him multiple times. Kind of like saying "good example of talent evaluation by the jones" when they didn't draft Brady.

And for the record, we didn't lowball Murray. That last offer of $6M per is all he was worth.

Who would you have signed day1 and what price?

We signed a couple of players on day two and one was fairly significant.
What exactly where you expecting after one day?

Not shocked what so ever...Infact I predicted this....we would do little to nothing. The sad fact is as long as the Jones' own the Cowboys...it's gonna be run into the ground because they lack true football knowledge. IMO...fans are finally starting to realize this...and it's starting to set in that this is now one of the worst run franchises (if not the worst) in the league. :(

Teams that draft well do not need to waste money on outside free agents. Almost never works out when it comes to the dollar amount they receiver.

Cowboys, while not poor at drafting, aren't the best at drafting role/key players. We may strike gold on a 1st rounder, but then tank on the rest, sans a couple of depth guys for example.

So far, no one off the signed list really intrigued me, due to cost. No need to worry right now.

Don't tell the Broncos that after Aquib Talib and Demarcus Ware helped them get a Super Bowl this year.
They turned a bad defense into a monster defense mostly due to free agent signings......and Wade..haha
