Are we just assuming the culture is good now?

If our favorite team was coming off a nice run of playoff wins over the last decade, I would be glad to see our front office and coaching staff craft our roster around keeping some key players that have been most influential in a bunch of playoff wins.

Problem is we have 2 wild card wins the last decade and a culture that has been questioned by those both inside and outside of this organization as being soft and not focused fully on winning football games.

Serious question- So why would this organization- almost yearly - decide the most important free agents to sign are “our guys”? Our guys who haven’t really an complished that much. Are we trying to keep the same culture and performance from “our guys” why would expect the results it to get any better?

Put another way, are we assuming “our culture is fine”? Is our FO really just convinced that this three decade playoff drought is just bad luck?

Because if there’s no learning or understanding about what’s wrong with this organization, how are we supposed to “believe” we have righted the ship in the right direction?

I’m hoping we have a great draft and sign some impactful FAs. But what about this team’s culture? Doesn’t it need addressing too?
I believe culture is a trickle down phenomenon. The less Jerry and family insert themselves, the more promising the future of the culture looks. So far, it seems like our new HC is allowed to pick his own assistants which, if true, is probably a step in the right direction.

Parcells did also. I played as a Falcon with Ben Martin. As a college coach, he was replaced by Bill Parcells at the USAF Academy.

I don’t know about a “ broken culture “ scenario in Philly . AJ Brown said his SB “ high “ lasted three days then his thoughts were this upcoming year and the hunt is on again . That’s professionalism . Barkley overcame a broken career in NY and looked like a different RB . They draft well they bought strategic FA pieces made some good trades . Lurie stays out of the way signs the checks and Roseman does a good job .

Cowboys problem is at the top of the organization the glory hound who has to be in the locker room after games and yapp away to the lap dog press . George Steinbrenner didn’t even do that . He spoke from the owners suite and didn’t have to repeat himself the message was loud and clear .

And to be honest MM never struck me as a “ culture “ guy . Maybe this new staff can improve things despite the Razor Back class of 64 .

Jerry had success coming in. He took a financially broke organizational team and used the necessary control then and both won and got out of debt. FACT.

Dallas Cowboys have still achieved respectably, just not at the level many fans want to insult all others no matter what is affecting play game by game or in the season,

Crap, learn how to be a fan again or move to New York.

I dont disagree, and maybe Eberflus has some different plans than what he has shown in the past, we really dont know. Micah just seems like an odd fit in this defense. He was the focal point of DQs defenses here. Zimmer let him roam around the A gap. Eberflus historically doesnt bring many of these exotic looks and while he has had some good defenses he doesnt seem like the choice to maximize Micah at all.
Good coaches adjust their schemes to maximize their talent. Everflush has never had a player like Parsons.

Nope.

Things won't change for the better as long as Jerry is in charge. I used to fight that idea hand and foot, but it eventually became apparent that I was wrong. Jerry quite simply sabotages everything. Why? To keep the Cowboys relevant and try to prove that he is a football guy. We'll know that things are on the way to changing when we stop taking the Tacos, Gregorys, Mazis, Sam Williams, Schooners, LVEs, Jaylons, and Trystens. You're just not going to get over the top w/ so many high draft misses. And no hindsight, these were poor picks and I and a pile of others thought so at the time.

Ah, the childish fan thingie again. Cheap and weak.

So, is it OK for a fan to root for the correct actions to get into super bowl contention? Is that OK?
