Are we just assuming the culture is good now?

This is where the franchise sits right now.

The Cowboys quarterback was handed a new four-year deal worth $240million last September to offer financial relief for the franchise, but now they face the reality of an unsustainable cap hit.

Fortunately, it's understood that Prescott's contract can be restructured to allow for what the Cowboys have described as a "selectively aggressive" recruitment process this offseason.

It's thought that the 31-year-old's deal could have the majority of his salary for the season converted into a signing bonus in order to lower the cap charge to around $50-$54m for the coming season - subsequently freeing up over $36m in cap space.
