Are we missing a key factor?

We're missing leadership.
At every level.

DAK and Zeke are fine.

The OL is fine but we may need a transfusion there..

It's obvious Zeke makes the OL better than it is.

Lee is great but he can't keep from or avoid injuries making him a part time player.

The rest of the defense is garbage.

Marrinelli's schemes have been broken like the **** Enigma Machine in WWII.

I heard the other day Phillip Rivers was calling out our defense at the LOS and killing us.

And Linehan has no other game plans..they are the same as got him fired in Detroit.

What else?

We have to at minimum change the OC/DC. I wand Red out asap, but if JJ will not do that he must do this. The offense can't be anything that JG knows as well.

Cavanaugh on the Fan this morning said if we were to switch out our WR's with the Rams, of Copper Cupp, Sammy Watkins, and Woods he said it wouldn't make a difference with this scheme we run. He said he's seen Linny's scheme with other teams as well and this isn't his scheme, it's JG's we are running.

Linnehan's is from Dennis Erikson/Jack Elway tree and not the Air Coryell offense we run. Main points of this offense is using a single back in a zone blocking system and play action passing from it. Key point of emphasis in this system is having the best player for that play working out of the slot . Calvin Johnson was used in the slot in Detroit much more than we do with Dez.

If you look at how he ran the passing offense in Detroit, it's much different than what we do currently.

The leadership is the issue.

Jerry always believes we are one ball bounce away from winning.

Will McClay, either under orders, or his personal belief that he has an eye for unknown, cost-effective players that will come here and be great. Also a recent obsession with SPARQ ratings and other measurables in the draft.

Jason Garrett spends more times worrying about slogans and press conference answers than strategies and adjustments.

The "key factor" we are missing is leadership.
But Jason smiles at every presser..

I'm confused.

I'm worried..

He is just grabbing a cup of coffee on his way to Jerrah'a office.

It's really weird.

I see other coaches in trouble and they are gesturing and being a little combarive.

Garrett has finally stopped high 5-ING guys and butt slapping.

Things are not as bad as I would think..

I'm relieved.

It all comes down to a fundamental disrespect for the role of Head Coach. Jimmy wasn’t important; 500 coaches could’ve won with that roster. Parcells wasn’t shi*p*; he was just a name to help get Jerry’s new stadium built.

None of this changes unless Jerry has a road to Damascus type epiphany.

Jerry thinks he paved the road to Damascus.

Trade a 7th to Detroit for the rights to Calvin Johnson.

Get Jerry to convince CJ to come back and play for the Cowboys.

Give Dez a new assignment. He can carry CJ's jock around and bring him water.

You had me at "convince CJ to come back".

Part of that is definitely related to the specific receivers.

Linehan is limited in what he can do with this group.
Dez - Dumb. They apoear to have eliminated option routes because he continually screwed them up.
TWill - Limited on what types of passes/routes he can catch.
Beasley - Quick not fast. Really small.
Witten - Slow but plays 100% of the snaps.
Butler - Makes route running mistakes.

An OC can work around some limited players but at some point it's just too much.

Even just adding a Tyreek Hill type of big play threat would open things up even if he is not a true #1 type WR.

I actually think the option routes have caused a lot of Ints this season. Our WR's are too dumb to know which way to go as they have to read coverage.

Success is awarded with a harder schedule. It's hard to be elite from one year to the next. Teams like the Patriots are to be commended for being contenders every year.

True and nothing against the pats because they are amazing but man Id love to play the fins, jets and bills twice a year. Those teams seem to be trash every year for a long time.

Nice post and thanks. Makes you wonder if this JG still wanting input on this, or our WR's are too dumb to run his offense. Dez in the slot means he has to think and read coverages......gulp.......
