Are we the 2007 Giants

2007 giants were riddled with injuries early on. got everyone back healthy towards the end of the year.

..when that Eggnog hits the shelves, right at a good time.

Where we are mediocre for most of the season but win enough games to sneak into the playoffs. Then shut down Carson Wentz, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees etc.

In NFCCG, this time we take out unbeaten Rams followed by shutting down KC Chiefs offense.

Was going to say the same thing.
It all starts next Monday night. Win, it is a good start, lose, let the whining continue. Well if we win it still may continue.
But lose, I can't blame anyone for criticizing. And continue the process of GROG chants.
Depends how they lose. Was it Garrett, Linehan, players.

I was being sarcastic.

This is not the 2007 Giants.

No, they are the 2018 Cowboys which looks a lot like the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Cowboys that finished 8-8.

We have a much better defense or we'd be the 1988 Cowboys. But yeah, this is shaping up to be 8-8.

I figured you were.
I was too, kind of. But also, why not. Other teams used to seem dead in the water and have done it.
But then again, they did not have this coaching staff.

Do I think we can, no, that is the negative side in me, mainly due the the coaching staff. As well as faith in Dak that he can turn it around.
But I won't rule it out until I see us in the next few games. That is the positive side of the fan in me.

No, but we do have a very easy schedule at the end of the year, so it might look like it to some fans for a few weeks.

Jerry will love that.

Here's why not.

1) We don't have Coughlin. He dwarfs Garrett in the coaching department. It's an embarrassing discussion to have trying to argue Garrett has that kind of potential.

2) The 2007 Giants could get after the QB - Tuck, Strahan, Umenioyra. It covered up some defensive deficiencies they had. This Cowboys team isn't even close to that kind of pass rush team.

I usually do my drunk posting later in the evening and mostly weekends but I dig your style...

The 2007 Giants had a loaded roster that couldn't get out of its own way at times, but got hot down the stretch. Overall this Cowboys roster is a lot worse.

Their weak link was Eli during the regular season (20 picks!), but to the goober's credit he got hot during the playoffs too.

The 2007 Giants were actually a great team.

The reason they seemed mediocre was because Eli held them back.

In fact, they won 5 games in which Eli had a QB rating lower than 65, including a win @ buffalo that got them into a playoffs when Eli put up a passer rating of 32.

So in that sense, there is a parallel.

Not even a close 4th place on this one... this team stinks, from the owner, to the coaches to the heartless play on the field.
