Are we using Vaughn too early?

At one point one of the Jets S picked up Vaughn while two other DBs tried to strip the ball which gave a DT 3 steps to smack him coming down the line. He didn't fumble but they need to figure something out.

I figure that once you pick a player up and do not put him back down, the play is over but they let the Eagles do what they do so who knows. But if teams can do that to him if crowded then it will be a problem.

On his second play, they ran him off tackle and Williams got to him first falling on him. The rest of the Jets front dogpiled him. I remember thinking at the time that might be his welcome to the NFL moment. He got up after and adjusted his helmet. Romo was talking about the pace. Next play was the third down where he bobbled the ball.

He should definitely be getting snaps before Gallup and Hendershot. Pecking order IMO should be:

Lamb
Pollard
Cooks
Ferguson
Schoon/Vaughn/Tolbert
Turpin/Luepke
Gallup
Hendershot

He's fighting Turpin for the forced into premature action by the front office snaps department.

5th round rookie playing early snaps in the season, there's nothing wrong with it. How do you feel he's playing so far, does he need to be used more/less in a different manner? We all want him to do well in the end, so if this leads to you bashing him, this isn't a bash thread. Please give your thoughts
What? Hes not used enough. Get the kid in the game!!!

RUNNING BACK
Tony Pollard/Rico Dowdle/Deuce Vaughn
vs.
James Conner/Keaontay Ingram

It was a grind-it-out kind of day for the Cowboys running backs last week. Pollard was fantastic in the role he played and ended the day with 109 total yards of offense with a superb catch that went for 19 yards to end the third quarter. His explosive plays really looked to demoralize the Jets defense. Rico Dowdle had some very important plays that helped the team secure first downs. Surprisingly, the player with the best yards-per-carry on the night was Deuce Vaughn with 5.3. This Cowboys backfield is talented for sure, but so far is showing to be a little lacking in consistency to be classed as completely dominant.

The best offensive weapon the Cardinals have is their starting running back, James Conner. He had a 100-yard rush game last week against the Giants and scored a touchdown. But his biggest downfall at the moment is touches, he’s getting overloaded. He now has 37 rush attempts and five receptions in the first two games, so you have to wonder how quickly he’ll burn out as this week’s game and season progresses. Behind Conner is rookie running back Keaontay Ingram, who has seven rush attempts for an average of 0.3 yards per carry. Keep an eye on Conner on the team’s practice reports, he was injured last week but was given the nod at the last minute to play. He maybe still nursing any lingering issues.

Conclusion:
The Cowboys running back group is way deeper than the Cardinals by a mile. As far as both teams fair in running efficiency, they aren’t that far apart. The difference is the Cardinals have all their eggs in one basket with nothing behind their starter to support him. He’s also the main offensive playmaker, meaning if he goes down or fails to produce, so goes down the offense. As for the Cowboys, they have both talent and depth that are facing a below average run defense this week.
Win: Cowboys

I don't think there needs to be some magic timeframe to use Vaughan.. Ideally what you would want to see is him out there when the defense is a little tired so that you can take advantage of his explosion to the outside and his maneuverability in space. Yes that could be in the middle of the second quarter but could also be on the 15th play of a drive in the first quarter when the defense is suckin wind. I trust McCarthy to get it right.. way more than I trusted the other guy..
Vaugn can run up the middle just as well as the outside.

I think the workload they've given him is good ATM. I think it's enough to where he is being used as a part of this offense, consider they seem to want to sprinkle in all the RBs, without overloading him.

I don’t know about when we should use him but I held my breath watching him do that forward flip at full speed…….don’t want to see the little guy get hurt.

Work him in more.

Running backs run. Or they don't. They don't need time to develop. The kid can add something.

they have had 2 golden opportunity's to play D a whole qtr, just hand off to him alot different runs, and then throw a short past etc but give him a lot of work.
and see if he can bust one.
Both the giants and jets game they were way ahead and could have give D the whole 4th qrt.
But they chose to play scared , like if we play doos , jets could come back and win!!

I dont get it, as those are the times I would put rush in let him throw some passes, give him doos as rb, use some bkup wr, schoon as te , also let lipke
run with some etc. Seems like a good time to do it, but no mike plays scared, and afraid to somehow lose a game like that, and also mike
is wanting a " BIG" wins, with lopsided scores, ( his ego) and he doesnt want to do anything that will indanger those scores.

like wouldnt it be awful if the jets had scored 17 or 20 instead of 10?
and they giants, if they had kicked a FG or oh even worse got a td, that would be simply awful.

So he isnt going to risk that happening by getting guys in the game, that need work, and we might need later in the season!
yes just leave them on the bench, and rust while our starters make sure we win by huge scores against bad teams lol.
It is crazy to me and wasting opportunitys to play guys and get better as a "TEAM"

No. He is not running the ball 30 times, he's a plug-in. A nice plug-in at that.
