Vaughn is not built for the second possession. He's a second half back. Bring him in when people are gassed and sucking wind.

I don't think there needs to be some magic timeframe to use Vaughan.. Ideally what you would want to see is him out there when the defense is a little tired so that you can take advantage of his explosion to the outside and his maneuverability in space. Yes that could be in the middle of the second quarter but could also be on the 15th play of a drive in the first quarter when the defense is suckin wind. I trust McCarthy to get it right.. way more than I trusted the other guy..
Defenses usually don’t start to tire until the second half. That would probably be the best time to use Vaughn. A fresh back against a tiring defense could yield big plays.

Absolutely not. Let's see what the kid can do, and let him get a feel for the game. When is the last time four RBs got touches in a single game for this team? The competency of this roster down the depth chart is going to pay significant dividends as the season progresses.

5th round rookie playing early snaps in the season, there's nothing wrong with it. How do you feel he's playing so far, does he need to be used more/less in a different manner? We all want him to do well in the end, so if this leads to you bashing him, this isn't a bash thread. Please give your thoughts
Not at all.

But the fan expectations are unreal. The crowd excitement last week was over the top every time he entered the game. The expectation is he’ll house it every time he touches the ball.

It’s like Turpin last year after he returned 2 in a preseason game against grocery sackers and dock loaders.

Vaugn can run up the middle just as well as the outside.
Deuce has just barely been introduced, it's just a matter of time until he busts a long one to the house.
When that occurs, defensive coordinators will be really concerned about putting together a game plan.

they have had 2 golden opportunity's to play D a whole qtr, just hand off to him alot different runs, and then throw a short past etc but give him a lot of work.
and see if he can bust one.
Both the giants and jets game they were way ahead and could have give D the whole 4th qrt.
But they chose to play scared , like if we play doos , jets could come back and win!!

I dont get it, as those are the times I would put rush in let him throw some passes, give him doos as rb, use some bkup wr, schoon as te , also let lipke
run with some etc. Seems like a good time to do it, but no mike plays scared, and afraid to somehow lose a game like that, and also mike
is wanting a " BIG" wins, with lopsided scores, ( his ego) and he doesnt want to do anything that will indanger those scores.

like wouldnt it be awful if the jets had scored 17 or 20 instead of 10?
and they giants, if they had kicked a FG or oh even worse got a td, that would be simply awful.

So he isnt going to risk that happening by getting guys in the game, that need work, and we might need later in the season!
yes just leave them on the bench, and rust while our starters make sure we win by huge scores against bad teams lol.
It is crazy to me and wasting opportunitys to play guys and get better as a "TEAM"

Rush played. He was in when they were mudholing your Giants

I think the need to get Vaughn in space. Running him on sweeps like they do with Turpin is going to be a 50-50 deal. But I think they ran him early against the Jets because when they ran him against the Giants it was late in a blowout and the Giants were expecting the run. They should have been handing off to Luepke at that point. But I think they wanted to see what Vaughn could do.

I don't think the blocking was especially good on the plays where he got the ball against the Giants and Jets, with the exception of the 13 yard run around the right side which was wide open for him.

It could end up being the match ups. If they feel the have a favorable match up with Deuce they will create some plays in the game plan. Sometimes more in certain games, sometimes may only be a few plays. Also the game situation needs to be there.

Yep. Defenses are scared of him. The threat of him on a flare opened up CD on one play this week
It was easy to game plan vs our Running Game for years, just means less practice time and game planning when you are one dimensional running the ball.
Cowboys have the ability to interchange different RBs with totally different skillsets now.
That causes DCs to spend extra time in practice to prepare.
Advantage Cowboys.

We're using him the WRONG WAY which I knew would happen.
