Are you extending Pickens or Bland?

It's irrelevant who you would pick now because you aren't doing either now. Will Bland bounce back now an additional year removed from injury? Will Pickens mature and "behave"?
My assumption and best guess of what will happen is that we will cut Diggs and use that savings to pay Bland. Personally I think Bland is a better overall player, but even if you think Diggs is better (and I am fine with someone thinking that) you need to accept that Eberflus states over and over how every player on the field needs to tackle. I think in his mind Bland is a better fit. Then I also extend Pickens. So I don't pick between Pickens and Bland as the OP asks, I pick between Bland and Diggs. This also assumes Revel works out

It’s possible. But I think to do that you’d need to trade Diggs. The other option is sign Diggs, let Pickens walk and draft a guy so you get young talent at a cheap price. There’s also the option of tagging Pickens, then you could maybe trade and get something or get him for around 24 mil for another year without a long term big deal
Agreed. Diggs might have to go.

Pickens may not have wanted to.

Still a good trade for Dallas regardless.
He may not have wanted to, but Dallas could have declined the trade. Dallas could have offered less to the Steelers. Perhaps a 4th round pick is more appropriate for a 1-year rental.

A good trade? That remains to be seen. When Dallas misses the playoffs, and Pickens walks for a better deal elsewhere, Dallas will wish they had that third round pick back. (and 5th) They are not getting that draft capital back in comp picks, regardless of what some contend.

A very real possibility and I'm curious where you would allocate the resources.

Don't give me if the player does this this year. No kidding. Project what you think they'll do in 2025 and make a decision between the two.

Both. Im not going to be a little granny like alot of fans about the salary. You want to win? Pay your core players

Don't know how we can say when Pickens hasn't even played a single snap here. It's funny how people are acting like we got prime Randy Moss and Pittsburgh got rid of him for no reason.

So I'll say Bland. I know he does all the right things. Plus he probably won't cost as much.

Lol you do realize he doesn't have to take what dallas offers? Thinking he'll take a slot contract is pretty funny.
Of course I do. Still, I think he's playing the slot even though he doesn't want to because slots typically make less.

It'll depend on how he plays though. He was willing to do it before. If he does it well enough, it won't matter if he plays outside or the slot.

Pickens if he plays well and doesn’t cause any problems. We gave up two draft picks for him and if he walks we’ll be looking for a WR2 once again.

Both and I’m trading or cutting Diggs
That would be a dumb move. You would leave yourself without 3 starters and the secondary would be full of holes. Those are three young players that haven’t even reached their full potential yet. I get moving on from Diggs if he can’t play anymore, but not the other two unless Pickens doesn’t play well or is causing problems.

At a discount, yes. Waiting until the end of the season is a bit of a gamble. Having a great season for either individual means they have earned a market setting contract.

I say Pickens.

You need weapons for Dak. No more Dakxcuses.

Keep Bland in the slot so you can pay him slot money.
I would sign Bland and Pickens and trade Diggs for a good Defensive tackle or a high pick to use on a good Defensive tackle. Diggs makes too many business decisions when it is time to make a tackle. In the draft next year draft a corner with a high pick.

This is actually a spot where more leaves must fall first.

Not sure that it’s a choice between the two either.

Maybe they sign neither and finally realize that stopping the run should be a priority.

Maybe I hit the lottery that I don’t play. Tough to say.
