Are you glad we didn't get P. Lynch?

I feel like we dodged a bullet there.

We were offering our 2nd & 3rd round pick for that guy. We desperately need defenders and since we didn't get Wentz or Goff i'd rather just sell out on winning now.

Thank you Denver!

yes. I have been saying Denver saved Dallas from themselves. Dallas would have NO draft picks tonight if that trade went thru. This team has too much work to do for that to happen. What I really want now is for Dallas to trade back few spots (I still have bunch of 1st round grades on players still on board) and also trade Leary and really load up # picks in rounds 2-4.

Lynch was the last QB in this draft that I saw as being a potential successor, so at this point, I don't even think it's worth wasting a draft pick on QB this year.

thank you. Atleast one other person thinking straight.

My thinking is, they should have taken Lynch at #4 if they thought he was the future.

The future is shot, for now, at QB. Forget about taking QBs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and focus on guys that can help Tony win now.

everyone had 3 top QBs in the draft and then there was a drop off and i can see why boys tried to trade for the 3rd ranked QB lynch but there not going to go all in for a backup QB when romo can still play a least 3 more yrs plus team is in win now mode and imo this yrs top QBs are weak so glad broncos saved the day... agree team needs an able backup still and there have been plenty who have had solid careers that were 4th rd or lower

The Cowboys offering their #2 and #3 to move back into the first round for Lynch was going all in for a backup QB because regardless what QB they draft they're going to be Romo's backup until he's done. The Cowboys can't just think backup with the pick they have to think possible starter down the road because that road could be a lot shorter than we think. No one knows for sure how much longer Romo has but another injury that keeps him out a good portion of the 2016 season could be the beginning of the end for him.

If we can't count on him to play a full season then we have to start seriously looking for his replacement. The reports are that next years crop of QBs doesn't look that good. Obviously that could change but if we don't take a QB by the 3rd round the odds are we won't end up with anything better than another Stephen McGee.

The T has nothing to do with it. If the Cowboys had traded down and picked up Hargreaves, it would have been a solid pick. Driskel anywhere in this draft is likely a waste, which is why he'll still be there for anyone who wants him come day 3, probably late into day 3.

Lynch is no where near worth 2&3 red picks in a trade up.
My point us Driskell has same skill set at friction of the cost as Lynch

it would have been horrible to have a solid QB for NOW and the future. When Tony goes down and noodle arm fails, thank heavens we'll have nothing again. On top of that, we can give up even more next year to reach for a QB. I can't believe we spent a #4 on a RB when there is a half dozen as good coming out next year.

You may think so, but the rest of the NFL clearly does not, since Lynch was a consensus 1st rounder, and Driskel is a consensus 3rd day prospect. Apples and oranges.

Kind of. Our FO said Paxton Lynch has the highest upside which means anyone after him is definitely ranked a notch lower.

However I am glad we hold on to 2 and 3 because we need them and also so I have soemthing to watch in a few hours. Lol

It's funny how people who have seen a few highlights of the guy have convinced themselves he is going to be a bust. However, those same people who have also never seen Carson Wentz play a single down live have also convinced themselves he's going to be a stud. Lynch is a multi year project, but won't be asked to do much in Denver as he would some of these bad teams. But I would be willing to wager he is a good starting qb in the NFL one day.

if they were all in they would of used that 1st pick on him if they didn't think they could find one later in the draft... no one but romo knows how long he has and if he says he can go another 3-5 yrs then you gotta to go with that... tbh I want them to use the 3rd on defense but if they feel there's a QB you can't pass up then I can live with it... who knows if romos backup wouldnt develop into a starter either...

Lynch was never a consensus 1st.....thats hyperbole

At first I was happy to miss on Lynch. And now we drafted a guy that might never play again. I'm sick to my stomach

In the sense that Lynch doesn't impress me, I'm glad.

In the sense that the Cowboys were not willing to do what it takes to get their guy, I'm disturbed.

The Cowboys willing to use a #1 along with a #2 and #3 on a QB at the end of the first round is all in, in my book. Lynch would have been a huge reach at #4 overall and the Cowboys would have looked like idiots. They would have been the first team in NFL draft history to use a top 5 pick on a backup player. Thankfully that trade attempt didn't workout at the end of the first round. The team being willing to give up that much for Lynch could point to them not being thrilled with any of the QBs that are still left.

yes they would of been idiots picking a "backup" at 4 which proves QB isn't at the top of their list and as I said the 4th rd is where their getting their backup

Had the first 2 QB's not been taken chances are the Cowboys would have taken one of them. If they were willing to give up their #2 and #3 to move back into the first round for Lynch then QB was pretty high on their list. They'll be lucky to get a quality backup anywhere in the draft at this point because they were clearly thinking not only backup but future starter with Lynch. Conner Cook may be the only QB left that has a decent shot to be a quality backup.

like I said if it was on top of their list they would of made one of those 3 their pick but didnt...
