I’m feeling even more bored than I ever have been with the team, and I missed large portions of games this season and some entire games. I don’t remember feeling this disinterested in the club except prior to being a fan (when I was a small child).

The club’s owner just publicly stated that winning championships is not his or the team’s main priority-which kinda takes all guessing out of the equation. They ordered these results, and anyone still following knows they did.

Without any major shakeup this coming season, I doubt I catch many of the games at all. I would hazard a guess that the squad makes it to the 2024 wild card game and depending on the matchup and health of the other team maybe advances to the divisional round where the other team is much better and typically more healthy (then they lose). 12-5 seasons with no advancing to the final four to me is not progression-the arrow is pointing sideways (and aging core players will eventually lead to a downward trajectory).

Sending Wonder Boy packing along with most of the offensive coaching staff has peaked my interest again in this coming season. I am anxious to see how Big Mike calls plays and runs the offense differently.

We also got the draft coming and I enjoy getting to know the prospects and listening to the draft show with Broaddus, its the only thing he actually sounds competent about. And since I am a UT alumni, I am interested in seeing where my boy Bijan ends up going. I would love for Dallas to draft him but I think we are going WR in the first instead. I just hope Bijan doesnt end up going to the Eagles or Giants, that would suck so bad, LOL

Jones can go pound sand. I'm too old for more of his balogna. I'll likely never watch another Cowboys game and I've been with them since the days of Landry.

My interest revived this year because sometimes the defense looked dominant, then sometimes the offense looked dominant. And sometimes either stunk.

It was such a roller coaster season. Looked like we were done after game 1. Then miraculously, we go 4-1 with Rush and the defense starts looking dominant. Then the run game looked dominant for a while. Then Dak has a string of strong games. But we end the season with the pass rush looking out of gas and the whole team just stinking it up against Washington.

So much up and down, continuing into the playoffs.
Dak's QB rating more than *tripled* from Washington to Tampa, then more than cut in half from Tampa to SF.

Just don't remember a season like this.

The Cowboys were like a box of chocolates ...

I have been following the Cowboys since 67 / 68 seasons, especially since the ice bowl.
My fandom has never wavered and never will. I will question things, complain about things, but also defends things as well.
I am much more positive than negative though. As I go into each season as a new adventure.

But never bored.

Bored? Not at all. Look at the comedy of errors that occurred at the end of the SF game. Wasting time before punting, running out of bounds going backwards keeping clock running, failing to get 2 feet in bounds while being wide open, getting lucky to avoid a safety because you didn’t throw the ball away, and then the final play was a masterpiece to end the season yet again. I can understand fans getting frustrated but that is entertainment right there.

Now I'm not bored I'm embarrassed as a fan that we can put together a good 12 win season with a road playoff game win against Tom Brady.

Then we take an easily winnable game against the 49ers and just throw it away ending with another horribly embarrassing play to end our season.

I know I should be thankful for a 12 win season but does the last play have to be more embarrassing than the year before and just leave a horrible bad taste in your mouth for 6 months.

I'm also going to throw disgusted in as watching the eagles blast by us again for a second time in 5 years as we sit on our hands and are out maneuvered in the front office is like having a pencil stuck in my eye

Partly bored but mostly I hit the point where it fully dawned on me that this ownership doesn't deserve any kind of loyalty, fandom, etc. Once you hit that point it's hard to turn back. I watch other teams and players more than i ever did.

Not entirely bored but less invested is the way I would describe my "fandom". I decided early in the season to go to the Thanksgiving Day game for the first time and wasn't disappointed except for the fact they didn't cover...I would suggest to not take it as seriously as we get older, just a game. Think of it from the standpoint of our FO, it's a business. Always was and always will be.

Nailed it for me , if some of these people have to remind themselves, why they follow this franchise. Maybe it’s time for them to move on. Sometimes I ask myself that question. Mr. cowboy, the pride, the star what it represents. It’s not too hard to remember why for me

yeah I have been bored with them for a few years now.
The games are still fun to watch if you dont care if they win or lose.
The circus still entertains me.

But as for this season, the whole season and the other teams were all boring and weird. Kinda like they did too many fixes lol.
The only thing I found a little exciting were the seahawks, and giants who were surprisingly good and over achieved. And forgot the Jags
who also surprised me and did good.
the rules and bad calls, missed calls, injurys added to this mess of a season.

I will go ahead and cite some examples, SF vs PHIl purdy gets his arm hurt with 6 min left in 1st qtr, then eagles knock out the bkup qb [bounty bowl tactics ??]
faced with McCaffery at qb [ which was the better option for running] SF decided to use purdy but no passing at all lol.
stupidest thing I have ever seen.
Also on phil 1st drive the nfl booth, refs and NY somehow miss the obvious non catch on the 4th down play, and SF missed it too, and no challenge lol.
The refs called some atrocious games this season, with all teams.

Hard to believe that there were only 7 teams that won 12 games or more this year and yet here we are making comments like this. There truth is there are so many teams that would love to have a 12 win season. But not winning in January doesn't feel like progress is being made.

The Cowboys have a very young team. The dreaded over 30 club members are: Hilton, Peters, Martin, Tyron, Godwin and Anger. Hankins, Barr and DLaw are 30. With their good drafting, the Cowboys are in good shape with an aging roster.

Completely understandable. Jerry certainly does not deserve the fan loyalty the team has. I am still engaged but the teams wins/losses affect me less over time. My week used to be ruined after a loss…now its just 2-3 days of being miserable. Jerry is just a manchild that needs to make sure he has his fun as the meddling owner. Thats his top priority. Winning is a “nice to have”. Not a must have.

That’s the same year I got onboard. It’s been quite a ride even tho the last 20+ seasons have ended in a defeat.

The only boredom is that the season is over for the Cowboys . On to the next :starspin:
