Not really. The organization is not good. Overpaying one QB addresses nothing, we will still lose.
I was hoping for some type of Herschel Walker trade, to stack draft picks, and rebuild the team. Yea, I know with Jerry still in charge it won’t really matter and we are not winning anything either way, but can always hope.

Yes... I am happy we signed him. While the “Dak haters” make some valid points, taken as a whole, and considering where this roster currently sits, the state of the locker room, salary cap etc... this was the correct move and gives us a chance to be competitive.
Honestly, I don’t think those chances are all that great that we win a SB— but signing Dak gives this currently constructed team it’s best chance to contend.
If they don’t— then we blow it up and rebuild and the Dak haters were right.

Not that I don't think he deserved what he got, he got what the market affords and I'm happy for him.
But overall I'm not thrilled we paid so much. The NFL QB salary issue is getting out of hand and will be crippling teams going forward.
But whenever I had previously thought about it, I would have been bummed out if we lost him, so yes I'm glad he's staying.
I think his leadership is very much needed and his personality fits this team well. And IMO, the guy is definitely good enough to lead us to the Superbowl, if the team is good enough to get there.

I’m happy he’s signed... what I’m not happy with is how badly Jerry and Stephen have handled this.
Dak could have been on a longer contract with a lot lower average per year hits, and this goes back to them caving in to Zeke instead of letting him sit out and concentrating on Dak... and that difference could be costing a couple of quality defensive free agents.

Overpaying for quarterbacks hasn't worked for a number of years in relation to the collective team success of reaching/winning a Superbowl. Perhaps with the supposed massive increase in the salary cap this pattern will change but currently no i'm not happy as in my opinion, the collective quality of the team will suffer and be weaker as a result of this contract which in turns decreases our chances of success. But if you have Dak Prescott in your dynasty fantasy leagues then it's party time!

I'm not a Dak hater as I've said numerous times he's a good quarterback and would hate to see him go but this was just down right nonsense looking from a football aspect.
We had our best chance of winning a superbowl when Dak was cheap but instead of fixing the problems(on defense) we shelled out horrible team killing contracts. Ie zeke, Tank, jaylon and etc.
To me this was Jerry's were "one player away" nonsense again or frankly he was scared of Dak going to another team and succeeding. Mainly Washington.
Tons of money spent on gambling on his injury. I'm not concerned about the ankle but more the mental side of things. You can be the toughest sob but an injury like that could definitely screw with your mind especially with players bearing down on you in game situations.
The defense bar two or three players needs an entire rebuild. Then we have to deal with the aging OL. Signing Dak is a mute point. By the time we fix the defense Daks contract will be up.
I just honestly think Washington is light years ahead of us if they ever get a good quarterback. Giants posted a top 10 defense. A few offensive weapons and especially fixing the OL will make them competitive. We're a cluster F like the eagles but hey at least we have a team killing franchise quarterback contract floating around(not the first year)
If we were close to being competitive for years to come hell yea I would like this but nope just down right lunacy

Not for what we paid..........Jerry is basically bringing back the same cast of characters who couldn't get it done over the past 3-4 years and hoping for a better result.

You make an excellent point. Washington and the Giants will not be the same joke they were between 2016-19. No longer 4 wins safely locked up before the season has even begun.
Given that Washington genuinely gave the Superbowl Champions their hardest game in the Play Offs with a no name QB then I would make them favourites to win the NFC East next season.

Yes but frankly it isn't about the fans being happy or not. Comes down to rebuilding on a prayer of a new QB in the draft or a greater chance of at least winning the division. Really we should be thankful for Dak because just revisit the draft when we took Dak because Jerry wanted Paxton Lynch (out of the league already) and then Cook (out of the league already) before we settled on Dak. If either of those trades would have happened then we would have never drafted Dak and probably would be looking again and again for a guy. Any of we fans who lived through the times of after Aikman and before Romo do not ever want to see them again. Period.

It's very hard to be happy knowing that we won't be able to truly compete now. We might win the division because it's so bad, but we're going to be an easy out in the playoffs.
Dak went 8-8 and then 1-3. Why would anyone think that changes by paying him as the 2nd highest paid QB ever? The team can't get better even if they wanted now.
Meanwhile, Tom Brady is about to take a team friendly deal and go to 2 or 3 more Super Bowls while we get knocked out every year early because we paid a sometimes is, sometimes isn't, depends on who we play, top 10 QB the 2nd highest QB contract ever.
