As if the first 5 he's been here haven't been enough. Does anyone think he'll see the entire 5 years?? Jerry seems to have the this thing for keeping coaches for 10 years, please give your thoughts

No. Five years is always a gracious period for any head coach.

Exactly.

Does anyone think he'll see the entire 5 years??
We will all know the definitive answer to that question within the next five days.

Jerry seems to have the this thing for keeping coaches for 10 years
Jimmy Johnson - 5 years
Barry Switzer - 4 years
Chan Gailey - 2 years
Dave Campo - 3 years
Bill Parcells - 4 years
Wade Phillips - 3 1/2 years
Jason Garrett - 9 years (not counting him as an interim)
Mike McCarthy - 5 years

please give your thoughts
Decaf coffee may be the best thing you could ever try..?

Where do you get that Jerry has a thing for keeping coaches for 10 years? Only Garrett was given that luxury. Every other coach since Jimmy either quit or was fired within 5.

But back to MM, does it really matter if he stays or goes? Jerry is still the one calling the shots, and everyone knows that nothing changes until he is worm dirt.

I'm not against it. I really think the Cowboys have a bigger talent problem than a coaching problem right now. Plus MM has 5 years of experience working with Jerry....give him a new contract and maybe he has a better chance navigating the issues with Jerry and pushing back once hes off the hot seat a bit.

There is no way Jerry is offering a 5 year contract to McCarthy at most it will be a contract inline with Dak’s extension.

It's funny how Jerry wants to hold his HC accountable and talks about incentive based contracts, but his mediocre, overpaid QB isn't held to any standard whatsoever.
And he’ll more than likely never play a full season again.

In a weird way that probably eases the pain for Jerry.

He’d rather pay a hurt Dak than a crappy Dak. He can justify that better.

I find it comical as I imagine the hold up is they want to give Mike a 3 year deal and he wants 5 year deal. Where as with Dak they wanted to give him a 5 year deal and he went for the shorter deal.

Mike wants 5 so you can him in year 3 he still gets paid. Whatever it is they need to keep Bones and find the best DC in football.
