Are you ok with MM being here on 5 more years?

I'm not against it. I really think the Cowboys have a bigger talent problem than a coaching problem right now. Plus MM has 5 years of experience working with Jerry....give him a new contract and maybe he has a better chance navigating the issues with Jerry and pushing back once hes off the hot seat a bit.
don't really like the sound of this bud

Because he is making $4-5 million per year and jerry takes the heat.

I don’t see how Jacksonville (working with Khan and Baalke) of Chicago (stacked division and cold) are any better than Dallas
I don't think its about money. Obviously he makes money anywhere he goes at this point and accountability/responsibility is what most coaches want. I don't think MM is just some dullard that is looking for a free ride.

I know it doesnt lead to a ton of optimism, I just fear a new HC could be more of a downgrade than an upgrade.
if he's able to clean up some things (penalties) etc getting Jerry and Stephen to focus on severe positions of need, can we call this a win?

As if the first 5 he's been here haven't been enough. Does anyone think he'll see the entire 5 years?? Jerry seems to have the this thing for keeping coaches for 10 years, please give your thoughts
Doesn't matter anymore

Every off season that doesn't start with Jerry stepping down as GM is a failed season no matter who the coaches or players are.

Jerry just needs to name himself head coach for his remaining days on Earth.

Over the alternative of Zimmer or Kellen…..yes, I am fine with Mike. Johnson, Vrabel, etc will never be considered by Jerry. It’s not like there will be a new QB coming in to start over with.

We'll just have to enjoy regular season success.
They also get their teeth kicked in by any winning team in the regular season. So you must define success by bottom feeding against below .500 teams only in the regular season.

What are we downgrading from? SBs? Conference title games? stacked playoff wins? There's no real difference between 0-17 and 17-0 if you never compete for championships.
OK but by that logic why not just cut Micah Parsons and Ceedee Lamb right now? If there aren't super bowl hopes we might as well get rid of Tyler Smith as well.

The issue is that this team has some work to do before they are real contenders for anything, but lets address the actual issues instead of just creating false optimism with a new coaching staff. I don't think letting MM walk just for Jerry to turn around and pick up a Kellen Moore or Matt Eberflus moves us in the right direction.

I think 5 years is long enough. But, I'm just a fan with a 45 year history of watching the NFL. What do I know?

If this one of his performance based, I'll be happy.
He won't last next year, and I'll be happy with a top 5 pick.
Win, win

To the OP, define "ok." Lol. I look at all us fellow cowboy fans and pretty much assume we have Stockholm syndrome at this point in time, at least, those of us that been fans for 30 years or more. The other younger fans just keep buying the snake oil and all I can say is, Bless their hearts. As far as the prospect of Mike McCarthy? I'm indifferent. I have no choice but to accept the potential suck.
