Looks like both chargers are misdemeanors as well. So at worst, he’s looking at fines and community service

The charges on the arrest warrants are misdemeanors, but that doesn't mean anything. They could easily charge him with more once he is arraigned (or further down the line).

We know 2 people were killed. The authorities obviously think he was racing. I have no idea if they can prove it, I am just saying they obviously think he was involved in a street race which resulted in the deaths of 2 people. Unless he really does have some sort of exonerating evidence, at this point I would be surprised if they didn't change him with a felony.

I’m not trying to dismiss this as nothing for Carter, being involved in the scenario was obviously very dumb from the beginning…but no, not really like the Josh Brent situation at all.

Unless police can somehow prove that Carter was feeding the other kid drinks or forced him to race, I don’t see how the legal ramifications would be anywhere close. Very unfortunate incident of 2 college kids being dumb, but not sure how you could point to this as Carter’s “fault” at all that someone died.

Legally, you can. If it was a race and someone dies, all participants in the race can be held criminally liable.

I have no idea what is going to happen here (though I don't think he is going to jail). I am just speaking how he could hypothetically be in trouble.
